Best god damned comment on this site. It's not funny, because it is true.

Don't Starve Together has left Early Access

Quoting: ShmerlSo it's Steam only?

UPDATE: Yeah, it is: http://forums.kleientertainment.com/topic/44729-dont-starve-together-roadmap/ [External Link]

Is Don't Starve Together available to non-Steam users?

Don't Starve Together uses a lot of the Steam API's to function, hence, at this time, Don't Starve Together is only available on Steam.
Too bad. Developers shouldn't use this lock-in.
I just don't get it with you dude..... Steam is our best way (and probably only hope) of getting more and good quality games, without Valve we'd still be playing Xbill. There is absolutley nothing wrong with steam! Sure it can be nice to have DRM free games if you wish to install something on the old Craptop which never uses internet, but it's 2016 right?

Quoting: KimyrielleThis is one of the very few actually commercial quality OSS game projects and I am not sure if "very few" actually means "the only one" (I can't think of a second one right now). I hope they will get it done one day. Looks very good.
Battle for Wesnoth?
While Wesnoth certainly is a good and entertaining game, imo it doesn't come close to 0AD in production quality. 0AD feels like a AAA game in the making. can't wait for it to be finished :)

Darkest Dungeon, a popular gothic roguelike RPG now on Linux with a public Beta
29 Mar 2016 at 6:31 am UTC

i bought it on windows a while ago, and i tried the linux beta last night. i noticed one thing, when entering an adventure the map was empty (as in: i could not go to any rooms) after "giving up" the adventure and re-entering it was fine tho. if it was a one time thing it's no biggie, if it does this every time on launch it will be quite an expensive campaign for me:p

PAYDAY 2 on Linux & SteamOS, some thoughts & port report

Quoting: GBeeLet me just repeat what Liam said - "The AI is a little dumb and it will end up being a little bit frustrating for you, so online is a must really."

The singleplayer is unplayable and so if you're like me and have no time to dedicate to online play, then don't bother purchasing.

Also worth mentioning that once the police get involved, it becomes a wave shooter worthy of the Left 4 Dead crown. An endless stream of police/fbi etc will throw themselves at you, I was racking up dozens of kills in missions. Each wave is harder than the last as the cops armour up. There's no standoff and I never once saw the police decide to setup a perimeter and send in a negotiator, they always charge in guns blazing, apparently ignoring the civilians caught in the crossfire. This, and more is why I personally was disappointed by the game.
All the things you don't like is exactly what i do like. you always have the option to do most missions silent, if you fuck up and it turns loud... it should be punishing, unless your team is setup for guns blazing ofcourse...then it's another story. learn all the traits and skills first. You might not like it, but it's the way it's meant to be played.

Offworld Trading Company looks like it may come to Linux

Quoting: NouserI'm hoping this will end not being just a rumor. Offworld is one of the most interesting simulation games that had been out recently.
Im feeling the exact same thing, i played if for a bit on windows a while ago and it truly is a innovative strategy game. and loads of fun. The penguin needs this game.
