Quoting: aristoriasSo it is an early access title, means the game is not finished and in this case it appears that there is some more work needed. But what the developer "Crytivo" has finished already is an overprized DLC. This is the kind of thing I totally want to support ... NOT.Hmmm... about 5 Bucks for an Art-Book with 150 pages, a thousand high quality art assets and a soundtrack with 34 tracks. Nothing overpriced here. Have you maybe misinterpreted the Collectors Bundle as DLC? :)

Quoting: tuubiWhy would anyone gaming exclusively on Linux have collected a large wishlist of non-Linux games and had the filter set to show Windows games as well?Maybe to show the developer there is a demand for a Linux port?

Quoting: tuubiWhat's with the sighing? They make it quite clear that if you've set Linux as your only platform in the store preferences, your wishlist counts for Linux. There's no ambiguity. They could make the store filters more discoverable or even change the default based on platform, but I'm not sure that would be a popular change. No, that is not what they are saying.
If a user only has one platform filter selected in their Steam store preferences, adding a game to their wishlist will result in it being specially reported to the developer in a new platform-specific breakdown of the wishlist reportWhich means the game you have added with "Linux only" are reported to the developers as wishlisted for Linux. But doesn't effect your existing wishlist at all. I guess you will have to redo the whole wishlist with "Linux only" setting, and even then you can only hope that Valve gets their numbers right.
Only show me games which support one of these operating systemsIf you select Linux only, then you only see games in the store, which are supporting Linux already. But what about non-Linux games now? I want them to count for Linux as well, if I add them. But how should I do that if I can't see them anymore? Maybe searching and adding them might still work. But IMHO this is way to complicated and will result in wrong numbers. Wouldn't it be better to count it for Linux if I add it with a running Linux-Client?

Quoting: liamdaweMost likely your wishlisted games count es "Unspecified Platform" anyway. I thought that adding the game to my whishlist, while running the Steam client on Linux, would be enough to count for Linux. Well, it doesn't *sigh*Quoting: KetilI doubt that, there will be many more on Windows doing the exact same thing. I don't think they get details other than the amount of people either (from the shots developers have shown me many times), they have no idea *who* you are to know how long you've had it wishlisted.Quoting: liamdaweI was thinking that wishlisting forever without buying could potentially be bad for Linux as it might cause expectation that isn't fulfilled later on. There is a big difference between wishlisting for a few months, and a few years, however, and I don't really know where I should draw the line.Quoting: KetilIs it bad for their wishlist stats if I keep it in wishlist until it is a bit more mature?Don't quite understand what you mean? Wishlist it for as long as you like.

Some thoughts on Valve’s new Steam Play feature and what it means for Linux gaming

Sure it is great news, as I can put my additional account to rest, which I used for playing games with Wine.
But my limit for buying games which don't run natively on Linux is max 5€ per game. I might change it to 10€ for Valve's effort with Steam play. But this is as far as I go for non native games. Hopefully there will be way to tell if it is natively or not.

Valve's Steam Play should work better today, as DXVK was left in debug mode causing a performance drop

Quoting: Whitewolfe80I think it is a little bit more complicated then that. As first step I have to install the game, before I can add it to the library. I'm not so sure that Steam Play supports this...yet.Quoting: ChronariusWhat about non-Steamgames? Can I run them with Steam Play too?Well i suppose techincally if you added the product to steam using the add the product to steam button as long as you had the exe files and not a "backup" version then i cant see why not.

Open-world vehicle builder 'TerraTech' has left Early Access
14 Aug 2018 at 12:46 pm UTC
GOG Sp. z o.o. 2018. Part of CD PROJEKT group.
TerraTech ist just another game which gets crippled and/or removed, again. Do you remember Armello? They released an Armello DRM Free Edition (Singleplayer only!!!) on GOG, which got pulled from the store shortly after. Or just not so long ago. GOG didn't get the Multiplayer Update for No Man's Sky. IMHO the Developer/Publisher should offer a refund or a Steamkey if they pull a game from a store and/or cripple it.
Then we have games in GOGs store which get many updates on Steam, but not on GOG.

Quoting: MayeulCThat was a bit too harsh to my liking. Firstly, CDPR and GOG (CD Projeckt Blue) are a bit more separate entities than you seem to think (AFAIK).Just scroll down the page on GOG and you will following line at the end:

Quoting: MayeulCSecondly, while they could do a lot more to support Linux, they still bring some of their DOSBox wrappers, etc. I hope that will change and they'll be a bit more proactive, open platforms are in their interest. However, that would be a catch-22, and a bit unjust to boycott their store. They can do a hell lot better support for Linux. IMHO it gets worse every year. There are many Games which have a native build on Steam but not GOG, or if they have it is singleplayer only, because of Galaxy.

Quoting: MayeulCAlso show Valve and other publishers that there's demand for (Linux) DRM-free titles ;)Valve isn't forcing DRM on Developers and Publishers. It is up to them if they want to use any DRM measures. There are many games on Steam which work fine without the Steam-Client.
Quoting: MayeulCAbout other saying that steamworks could be the problem; that might be true, but the networking part was open sourced by valve some time ago, so that might not be a problem. That doesn't mean that you can ship biniaries of the Steam-Libraries with your games in other stores.
