Half-Life: Alyx LEVITATION mod adds four hours of new story - out now

Annoyingly, Valve have still not fixed the issue with Alyx not launching on Linux with a "Timed out waiting for response from Mongoose" error that's been around since 2020
If you restart Steam and SteamVR and start HLA right away it should work (at least it does for me).

New Steam Client Beta adjusts the Vulkan pre-caching system and PipeWire for Linux

For those who are not aware: PipeWire screensharing was probably disabled by default, as everytime Steam started, it asked which screen to share. As there is currently no way to have it remember the user's choice it was probably disabled for now.

Looks like Steam is getting a brand new Downloads page

Why are you teasing me with that S&box download :(

Edit: nvm, it's xPaw who's teasing me :D

VR is absolutely insane, I am officially a convert and it works mostly great on Linux

The microphone problem can be "fixed" by switching to PipeWire. Had no issues at all with PW.

DDraceNetwork. I used to play Teeworlds and DDrace back in 2013. With this year's Steam realese of DDNet I kinda re-discovered the game. Since the release in August I put in around 500hrs into the game.

Also Beat Saber. Apart from Half-Life: Alyx it's my most played VR game and it runs really well on my 3900X and my Vega 56.

Missing out on VibranceGUI for Linux? There's a project for that and now a fork for AMD too

Quoting: XpanderI don't really get why you would extra tool for that as nvidia-settings also provides those features. But having for both vendors in the same place is a good thing ofc.
This tool can change the saturation based on the running application. Meaning it can automatically enable / disable some high saturation mode when your game starts/stops. Of course this can be replicated with wrapper scripts or with Feral's GameMode's script hooks, but this is more user friendly for people coming from Windows, as it provides the same functionality as the Windows equivalent.

NieR: Automata.

One of the best games I have ever played. Very interesting gameplay (switches between 3D and 2D), interesting atmosphere, lovely characters.

It runs pretty great on Linux with my Vega 56.
Only bug I encounter is that the mouse is shown almost all the time when playing with my gamepad. Sometimes the UI glitches out and is flickering between the keyboard input hints and the controller input hints.

All in all very solid game.

EA's experimental Halcyon game engine has Vulkan and Linux support

I think they want Linux support for their Origin Access Permier subscription (it is their own game streaming subscription). As Linux is dominant on the server market it would make sense to bring Linux support for their games so they don't need Windows on their expensive servers.
