this is not a regression of proton, it is a regression made by Project Cars 2, it works if you use a older version of PC2 which i agree is not a great solution.
But in my eyes best is to monitor this report, if something changes i think you will see it first there.

and for sure also the github report

i had the same issue, i bougth first a RX580 which was great but in my SFFPC it was overheating, so i had to change it and bought a 1070GTX and now no issues anymore.
I really hope when Navi gets released from AMD that they sort out their issues with heat and power consumption, then i will give it another try.

Quoting: devnullBecause not everyone is running that version of driver nor Ubluntu.and thats the reason that Feral is stupid? because your distro doesn't support the driver? How about installing the Nvidia driver from the Nvidia site.
Valve just released a big Steam Play update with Proton now based on Wine 4.2 & more

why is that stupid? Feral maybe use Vulkan and for that it needs a Driver to support it or the specific Vulkan extension. To install the ppa which has the driver is really not a issue and if you use a Nvidia Card then you know already how to install a driver.
for your info from their site
for your info from their site
Requires Vulkan
Nvidia graphics cards require driver version 418.43 or later
AMD graphics cards require Mesa drivers version 18.3.4 or later
AMD GCN 3rd Gen graphics cards include the R9 285, 380, 380X, Nano, Fury, and Fury X
Other modern drivers and distributions are expected to work but are not officially supported

F1 2017 works perfectly for me and my G29 wheel, the problem is that with proton most Racinggames don't work with FFB, the opposite is with Wine 4.x.
Quoting: Lolo01Quoting: Wernerhmm about F1 2018 does it really make sense? I mean without Force Feedback racing is pretty much useless in my eyes.It doesn't work any better with Feral port of F1 2017 due to the very few wheels supported.

I think its simple, the only thing they discuss is how much Valve have to pay to get EAC enabled with Proton.
