I'd rather developers not port their games at all, than make ports that work for a fraction of their customers on Linux. It just makes Linux look bad to potential users.

I think they really dropped the ball with how they handled beta access. Once they launched into early access they should have given all backers a key and not asked for extra money(There was an upgrade option).

Looks like there is a Bug in the Linux version. They are uploading a Hotfix apparently, in the meantime you can follow this:

There is a casing issue with the latest patch on Steam. There is a Hotfix going up very soon, but if you wish to play now please follow the following steps:

1) Right click on Shadowrun Returns and click 'Properties'
2) Select the Local Files tab and click 'Browse Local Files'
3) In the revealed folder, go to Shadowrun_Data/StreamingAssets/standalone
4) Rename the Seattle folder to seattle.
5) For Dragonfall users, rename the Berlin folder to berlin

Great article as always. Olympia Rising's setting made it an insta-back for me :D Although having a Heroine in story taking place in Ancient Greece? Homer's bones must be shaking. :P
