I had the originals so I thought I'd try "Shadow Of Chornobyl". I had the crash as well (desktop), so used "-nointro". Sounds like there may be an intro video I missed in that case, so I'll try "SteamDeck=1", thanks. I used Proton 9.
Looked fine to me and runs fluidly on my RX 6600 on high settings at over 70 fps. Good enough for me. I don't know what the almighty fuss about it being blurry is about.
Is there any point to the FSR option? It was off by default.
Edit: one incredibly annoying thing I did notice - I couldn't assign mouse buttons in the controls.

Super Video Golf -33% £5.69. A veritable bargain. Linux native and the dev runs it on the Steam Deck himself. Brilliant game.

I'm hanging back for F3:NV. Whilst I had fun modding F3 (Steam, then transferred to GOG), I don't have the energy or time to do it all from scratch again!

How does this perform through Proton? I have an RX 6600 and I'm not one who's bothered about playing on "ultra" (obviously!).
I rarely buy Proton only games but this one looks right up my street and hard to pass up.

How odd to remove Linux from the OS list. I loved the demo, best score of $20,345,522.
Will probably pick this up soon (provided Linux native survives).

Quoting: Eike....I cannot find a demo?Apologies for the late reply. It's a shame you don't have access to the demo :( it's just been updated as well, I've just heard.

This is a fantastic game, I've now put in 220+ hours and having a ball (Linux native).
Please note the demo is quite a way behind the game proper, which gets constant updates as it's still in development. Also note the story line is unfinished (half way?) but personally I play the game for the survival aspect and base building and not the story

As per previous comments, I'll be waiting a while on this until after a lot of bug hunting. Loved the previous games and this looks great fun.
Plus I only have an RX 6600 (for now), the poor little thing might burst a blood vessel trying to run this.
Also, excellent review :)

Quoting: tuubiJust for reference, it took 3 minutes 41 seconds to build on my 5950X (16 core).Quoting: nnohonsjnhtsylaySadly its written in rust so it takes forever to compile on my computer, even with my cpu with 24 threadsTook less than a minute for me on my eight cores. I suppose that's pretty long but not quite forever.
