If Microsoft or Google were interested in stopping that, they would be lobbying against it, where is all that heavy lobby power that mega corps, specially big techs, have and love swinging around? As a matter of fact, Facebook is lobbying to pass similar bills that force app stores to have age check.

The only reason I'm not cursing Larian right now for that asinine decision of making a Steam Deck exclusive Linux build (and let's hope that doesn't ever become a trend), is because BG3 runs horribly on the SD, so if they are specifically porting the game to that hardware, it better be better than Star Wars Outlaws on the Switch 2!

Good, I almost want to call this the Steam Deck's "miracle port". The dev team actually put in effort to make Shadows playable on it, and the game has no business looking as good as it does while keeping a steady 30fps on the handheld, but it does!

Even so, a blanket policy would be better. Either allow it, or don't.

But they do want to allow forks to keep the branding, but they reserve the rights deny the use of the brand by forks they consider hostile. They also didn't pull the legal threat out of nowhere, they tried diplomacy first and clearly, it didn't work.

You can call it jealously, but it annoys me having to hear year after year that Linux's market share is too small for devs A, B and C to make games for it, and yet a whooping 23% of them are making games for a platform with only a tiny *checks latest Steam Hardware Survey* 1.61% of the players.

The math just doesn't work, you know? 🧐

Wait, those listed issues can individually stop a game from receive "Steam Deck verified", this one alone:

Entering some text requires manually invoking the on-screen keyboard.

has stopped several games from getting the label, including two of my favorite ones, Final Fantasy XIV and Dark Souls Remastered. So, will this change in the system apply to other games as well or only the Pokémon clone gets the privileged treatment?

I have been waiting for this! I had decided finally give Wayland a try last year and then I learned KDE would it make it default in Plasma 6, so I decided to wait a little. Can't wait to try it out.
