Quoting: ExpandingManclearly close to XCOM in a lot of ways
When I played the demo I got much more vibes of Invisible Inc [External Link] instead of XCOM. The demo levels felt more like puzzles and which needed to be solved by a smart combination of the provided skills, while randomness/chance doesn't play that big of a role.

I hope they improved clarity further, while playing I wasn't always sure why enemies could see me or not. In one level I thought my character was standing directly in line-of-view, but the enemies were confused where they got shot from and didn't do much. They already moved into that direction during the steam festival and e.g. showed more clearly what and why enemies were doing by text notifications.

There is also glances [External Link], which is less flashy and has a more top-like look. It also has some more information visible per default and disk IO.

Mixing Tower Defense with production chains, the free and open source game Mindustry has a big update

Quoting: no_information_hereLooks amazing for a free game.

A few days ago, the developer released the final 4.0 build which is an absolutely massive update to Mindustry.
I haven't followed this game at all. Does that mean it is in (more-or-less) finished form? Or, will they be still changing the main game mechanics around?
There is a public trello board [External Link] which has some features for a v5 (called a polishing update) and a v6 (called "More content") so I think it should still be developed further.

Shovel Knight's final two expansions King of Cards and Showdown have been delayed

@saturnoyo If you are not aware: the other games in the Treasure Trove aren't really other games than shovel knight (besides the multiplayer one announced), but "addons" or alternative characters (with some level changes and additional content). If you like shovel knight you will also like the addons.

Geneshift, the 2D GTA-inspired Battle Royale has another update enabling more online modes for everyone

I played a bit of the f2p online mode, and it is pretty fun. My main complaint would be the low amount of players, generally I only played with 2 or 3 other humans. As there are bots you can still have fun, but I would recommend to bring some friends.

Pre-order Meeple Station for instant beta access, what the developers say is like Rimworld in space

Does the early access already contain online coop? I have a hard time finding good online coop strategy games.

Mindustry, an open source sandbox Tower Defense game that's a little like Factorio

It has multiplayer, for anyone wondering. Didn't try the multiplayer yet, so can't comment on lag/netcode quality.

Planetary Annihilation: TITANS has a new public test build up with lots of improvements

Just a few days ago I dusted off PA Titans to play a few multiplayer rounds with friends, but somehow invites per steam were not supported anymore. We couldn't get a (hosted by us) match running at all - I think I remember that it was trivial last time I played it. Anyone knows if there were some changes to steam integration?
