Thoughts on 'Stellaris' with the 'Leviathans Story Pack' and latest patch, a better game that still needs work
27 Oct 2016 at 2:12 pm UTC

As a ruler, i feel i still don't have much to do, even with the DLC. I bought it Day 1 to support the game, because all i want is HoI/EU/CK with a non-historic base. So far, they didn't deliver. Yet ?

Looking to capture gameplay from one Linux PC on another, what should I be getting?

I recently discovered OBS Studio (http://github.com/jp9000/obs-studio/wiki/Install-Instructions#linux [External Link]), and i thought it was nice, but you already mentioned it, so... I didn't find anything close to it on Linux, and for free.

I think it's easily the best space strategy game available on Linux right now.
I think Star Ruler 2 + Rising Star mod has way more content and replayability.

I played one full game of Stellaris at release (12 hours), and i didn't feel i want to play it again since then.

Well, might work because they are "cute", but 99% of life on Earth is not "cute", more like juicy worms, discusting bacterias, disease carrying insects... and should be saved too to keep the chain safe (and us when we take place in the chain). Fun part is that the simple fact to write this message probably killed a bunch of life forms, due to pollution to get a computer and internet running.

I suppose it's still better to "save a pingoo" than nothing ?

Widelands is fun but a little too messy, tested it about a year ago.

It's more about story and exploration, and less about building. Also it has some very nice ideas like the wrist tool with its map and GPS, the way you can upgrade it with gems, and more. Back in 2014 i played about 32 hours to "finish" it without having the feeling of doing the same thinq.

I've some hours on it, since Alpha 2 . The building part is already good, we need the management part now and it will be a great game.

Better too much than not enough, but i feel we have enough 4X. We (i) need Grim Dawn. I twitted Feral about it, they say they will see.

Testing out Brigador with the new control scheme, destroy everything

I really like it too, and i share your soft spot for it. The previous controls were good for me, just need one hour to learn how to, but it's nice they opened up the options for troubled players.
