... and shows no sign of stopping, as they approach a huge update with Journey's End
Uhm I don't know anythingn about the update but considering the name I'd say there is one sign of stopping, right there :D

I jumped on the Delete Your Blizzard Account bandwagon last fall. Mostly, of course, to support Hong Kong. Secretly also to stop myself pouring more hours into HS. You can still join up - just remember to tell 'em Blitzchung sent you :)

Oh I had just regained the all-achivements meta-achievement after unlocking the mobster. Now I know he's gonna add another and ruin my perfect streak. In all seriousness though, it's good to have excuse to go back... I'm still hoping against hope that it will show up tomorrow as a candidate for GOTY in the Steam Awards!

For some of our readers, one of these might have been your first taste of a strategy game.
Well, there was my Civ 1 obsession before this but those shields and heroes are burned into my retinas. I must have spent hundreds of hours on it. No idea if it has any depth to it, though, or if it's just because the idea of an all-conquering doomstack was still fresh and exciting back then.

I think it's going to be tricky to get it right. At a strategic level you want campaigns to be ultimately resolveable (splintered retreats, anyone) but also not just a matter of moving an army into a square and you've won.

Introducing a tactical level might make it more engaging than CK2's biggest-stack-wins-unless-attacking-over-a-river-and-unto-a-mountaintop - or it might just mean a distracting, uninteresting mini-game that most players will just ask to have autoresolved. If they can tie the two together in a meaningful way, say something Agincourt-like, it could be a winner but I'm not betting on it.

Looks sweet but some pretty hefty required/recommended specs (GTX 750 Ti/GTX 970). I was thinking it might be doable on integrated graphics, at least on a 2200g-like system, but I guess not.

Those aren't the only problems they've had. I have followed the user reviews percentage and the positives have been dropping day by day to 41% as of today. Seems like people aren't that impressed with the gameplay...?

This sounded perfect in every way - also Polygon recommends it [External Link], RPS puts it on the Bestest Bests liste [External Link] - and then I started noticing people referencing Stephen's Sausage Roll and sokoban in general. My brain loves word and logic puzzles but if there's a spatial dimension to it, it just up and quits :/
