It is the mods that make this game into a really good city builder in my opinion. It is very nice to see all the content that people have created for this game. It is amazing what can be done and how much effort some people put into their creations.
I set out to create a green car free city of the future. I had hoped that with the DLC Green cities it would be possible. I came a long way, but in the end, it isn't really possible in this game to create a city without cars and trucks. It was disappointing, but anyway, a small mod that added pedestrian crossings suddenly made bicycles much more popular and people started to use their bikes to get to work - it was a huge improvement imo. So the mods really can change the game for the better!
What I don't like with Paradox games in general is the overpriced DLC:s they produce. I would not mind it, if they added new content and charged a few euros for their effort, but when I have to pay like 15 euros to get Natural Disasters - which isn't that good anyway...

I have played this game 300+ hours. It gave me many hours of fun to try to find solutions to everything from overheating to getting the chlorine gas out of the way. It is very hard to find a good balance for everything, but that's also what makes it so fun. It stimulates my creative mind to try to find solutions to problems.
I haven't played it for quite a while now and it has been updated several times inbetween, so maybe it is time to try it out again.
if I am going to be able to build a successful base or not depends a lot upon the map generation, for access to some geysers is essential. As resources run out after a while anyway it is always a race against time, but a good start helps a lot.
The only thing I don't like about this game is that it is a Unity game, so the Linux version relies on Mono...

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive had plenty of updates lately, Danger Zone is looking good

I like the improved way that match making works a lot. It is a huge improvement!
The deployment bug is still there, but it happens rather infrequently for me. Maybe 1/20 or less of the games crash and usually it happens after several rounds. A little bit annoying but not a big problem. I tend to get this at certain insertion points, but it may be just random.
An other annoying little bug is when I finally find that weapon/item that I had been looking for, but I am unable to pick it up. It happens like 1/100th of the times or so, so very infrequently, but still a bit annoying. It may be a map specific problem related only to certain locations, I don't know.
I hope that they will add more maps for variation in the not too distant future, because it starts to get repetitive to run around the same island by now.

Some thoughts on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s Danger Zone, the new Battle Royale mode

The BR mode really takes CS to a new level and I like it. In my opinion they could make the maps a little bit larger too, but this size is also quite ok. I like that it is outside.
I can only speak for myself, but I seldom die because of ammo shortage. Instead I get killed either because I only have found a melee weapon and come up against someone with a gun or because I didn't see my opponent and die before I even get to aim, much less empty my mag, and that is the usual way. But there are exceptions; One time I only had a hammer and suddenly came face to face with someone with a gun. I rushed in desperation and started to beat him and for some reason I was able to win, even though he fired several rounds at me. That was fun :)
If I could wish for something it would be more maps for variation, more things like the gun turrents too, maybe some forms of traps, machines, etc, more weapons (I'd like to see things like bow and arrow, throwing knifs, crossbows, throwing axe, etc) and finally maybe also somewhat longer games. As it is now, I think I spend more time waiting for a game match than I actually play, and that isn't that fun. I completely agree with the way they narrow down the map, but it could be done a little bit slower imo.
Most annoying thing by far is the match making process. It seems very inefficient as it is right now, when I have to click on "accept" over and over again. If I am waiting for a match, then why do I need to accept it at all? Why not let me wait until a game starts.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive introduces a Battle Royale mode, goes free to play

The Battle Royale mode is quite fun to play and it suites me fine. I like the large open terrain map and the randomness that makes each game unique. For a free to play game there isn't really anything to complain about, but more BR maps to choose from in the future would be really nice.

Quoting: RoosterI have waited until 3 seconds but I still got the "15/16 players" message - but it is much less frequent, so I think it helps. The match making process is something the developers should try to improve, if at all possible.Quoting: EikeWhen I accept and the counter is at 16s or so, quite often it gets to 15/16 players and then it just closes. While when I wait for last 3 seconds, it always joins.Quoting: RoosterPro-tip: Wait until last 3 seconds before accepting a game. Why?
No idea why it is happening like that.

Played CS after work so many years ago. I was almost going to buy it during the sale this year, so this is welcome news. I will give it another try for sure. I almost never play online games nowadays, but the Battle Royale mode sounds interesting.
I also saw that Company of Heroes 2 is given away for free until December 10th on Steam. In my view this is the best tactical World war II game I know of by far, so if you are interested you should give it a try. I play against the AI every now and then and it is my favorite game of all times.

I played this game a lot when it was in EA many years ago and it was great fun. Then I didn't play for a long time, but came back a year or so ago for a revisit and I found that it was completely changed - and for the worse. I didn't like it at all.
Now I tried it again and I like that I now can use as many cubes of an unlocked tech as I like and I also like the way painting the robot works as well. It is quite fun to play again and imo the game is much better than it was a year ago.
I don't know if this is any help to you Gryxx, but I use Steam/Debian 9.

I am fond of the stone age and like the idea of a game covering that age. I watched the video and it looks great. I only hope that he will be able to finish and release the game, for it sounds like a lot of work for one person.

I like this game because I can drive around in Europe and just relax and watch the scenery. It makes it very different from all car sport games, where you just drive around and around. Well, Dirt Rally of course has beautiful scenery and fairly long roads as well, which I like very much, but it is still a one way trip start to finish.
Maybe in the future this is how we will spend our vaccations, driving around in an open viritual world to explore and discover new places, just like we used to do when everyone had a petrol car back in the old dirty fossil fuel age...

I almost feel bad when I buy games from Klei because I get so much and pay so little. (I sometimes feel bad when I buy games from Paradox too, but for the opposite reasons)
I have played Don't starve Hamlet many hours already and it is more than ready to play even if they willl continue to tweak and balance it for a few more weeks. In my opinion this is by far the hardest game in the Don't Starve series so far, but I use the settings to adjust it down a little. The fog, for example, is just too much for me.
I have spent close to 500 hours in Don't Starve and over 300 in Oxygen Not Included already so I can only say that Klei really knows how to make addictive and fun games. I nominated Klei Entertainment for Developer of the Year this year and I hope that they will continue to produce high quality games for many years to come. If only more game developers would learn what makes a game great!
