Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty Released On GOG & Steam, We Take A Look At The Linux Port

Quoting: sevencan the __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATION=1 %command% start option be used with every game?
pretty much yes.. some game do it by default also and some games use more cores so if you are limited with core number than that wont help in those cases.. unity 4.x engine games all benefit from this since they use only 1 core.. unity5.x is done a bit better

about the port.. framerate most of the time fine with some drops.
for nvidia users __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATION=1 %command% and it never drops below 60 anymore (or at least i didnt see in my ~1 hour of gameplay). didn't have threading enabled when recorded this video though.

solid port for classic.. sound quality isnt the best.. have turn down music slider to hear voices better etc..some volume balancing issues still there. but overall quality seems fine.

Quoting: throghInteresting concept. But I would only buy this game if it is DRM-free released either as boxed version or directly for download on platforms like GOG.com or GamersGate. Not giving any cent for DRM-platforms where the game needs to be activated, even this is the only step to be taken the proprietary client for STEAM is needed!
you do your thing.. you are gonna miss some good games with that mindset though.
but everyone their own i guess.

i myself like to get games automatically updaded and so on.. and if steam dies some time in the future, those games probably arent worth to play anyway anymore..if some are for nostalgic purposes then i would probably use cracked versions or whatever since i already own them anyway.

Survival Game 'Rust' Fixes Linux Issues, Some Thoughts
4 Feb 2015 at 10:22 pm UTC

44 hours here..havent really played the reboot one.
legacy one was superb.. alone is hard though.. i played with friend and over the teamspeak.. took like 5-10 attempts before we managed to build a house before getting killed.. and from that point it was just trying to upgrade your things and raid other players houses..

that rust reboot sadly has too many missing features yet to enjoy, so im waiting few more months for that.
in the mean time 7 days to die has been quite some fun.. its the most feature complete first person survival game on linux atm, though it lacks one big thing..servers are quite small.. up to 32 people only.

we were thinking if upstart based distros maybe have this issue? or apparmor?`or something whats common for those who have the issues with that
