Steamworks API From Valve Now Includes The VR API

i personally think that VR might be a thing in about few years maybe...
current Occulus Rift VR doesnt seem to have the needed accuracy and quality, but its a good start.
if there will be competition and demand for those devices, prices will go down as well.
it might be just another hype for short period of time though.. just like 3D was/is ..

Alienware's Steam Machine Won't Be Customizable

not really.. most people dont know how to build PC's so they buy pre-built and pay more because of that.
if the box is smaller, then ofc it costs a little more.
yeah some of the steam machines seemed to be way too overpriced but some were fairly good..
people like you, me and many more ofc will buy PC piece by piece and then install it.. and get a lot cheaper that way.. but we are only a minority i think.
also think about that.. lets say console costs $499 and average steam machine $699 (not talking about those $2k ones) average console game costs $60, while on steam you get away with $40 in most cases... that means with 10 titles you already have the same amount of money wasted on console.

ohh my... 5 pages of DRM debate.
if you dont like it then dont use it imo... simple as that.
i like to have a centralized software that keeps my games in sync and "prevents" multiplayer games from hackers, adds matchmaking, achievments, tracks game hours and what not..
i dont download games from humblebunde page usualy, because i hate to keep them up to date and following everything to see if there are new updates.
yes desura offers similar thing for game updates and has drm freee games, but its far from perfect.
yes its sometimes frustrating when servers are down and you cannot play, but i take that every time before some random sites to download games and keep them up to date.. those random sites might shut down and you loose your game if you have lost your backups also.
to the topic:
nice to see that they are giving their games to the ones who deserve them :)
thats how you build a community!

you are worried about ETS2 that cant play mp3 files?
you have operating system that can play those streams outside of the game.. why is that a problem to play a game and listen music at the same time?
just my thoughts on that.
they can focus on more content instead of trying to figure out the copyright stuff because anyone can play their favorite radio streams outside the game anyway
my 2 cents

AMD Catalyst 13.11 Linux Beta V9.95 Driver Is Out

i guess the 13.11 betas are based on 2013 november branch..
the 2013 december driver is marked as stable but the dev branch is still using november..
so once its stable they will push it to 2014 and january or february..making it 14.1 or 14.2
i think thats the logic?
now how logical are the nvidia numbers? those seem tottaly random.
