Dying Light Linux Performance Patch & New DLC Released
26 May 2015 at 6:53 pm UTC Likes: 1

FX 8320@4,2ghz, GTX 970, 16GB DDR3, Arch Linux x64, MATE Destkop. nvidia drivers 352.09

Before the patch: 18-30 FPS (mostly around 25)
After the Patch: 38-110FPS (mostly around 60)

settings: 1920x1080, everything maxed, Blur off, AA off, Distance minimum, Field of View +12

edit: even with motion blur off, there is still blur when sprinting.. which makes it unplayable for me.. my head cant keep up with that... also that chromatic stuff :(

otherwise perf is OK with few drops to 38 or 40 areas when lots of zombies in one spot.

game itself seems pretty fun, havent had much time to play it though, the port seems perfect and game mostly runs 100+ fps when not recording, only droping below 100 when in main hub area. thats with FX 8320 @4,2ghz anmd GTX 970 though.
the thing i like about it is that its not a click fest like most such games.. its WASD controls and QERT for abilities + ofc number keys.

looking forward to the final version!

somehow i cannot record 60fps video when vsync is disabled.. game runs over 110 fps maxed but the video output will come out choppy between 15-35fps only ..with vsync on and capped to 60 fps video output is fine

Quoting: sarmadWho cares about Early Access. My experience with Early Access was quite terrible: you pay to be a game tester!!!

i care.. i like to be part of the community if the game is good enough.
i like to see the first ideas (how it evolves) and then the final product at the end...

edit: maybe we should start a new thread about asking to bring this early access version to linux also? if theres enough interest they might change their mind ? :P

Savage Lands Early Access Survival Game Adds Linux Support, I Take A Look

Rust in its current state is pretty awesome again.. it used to be pretty much broken like 3 months ago, but now it has lots of features and great performance and visuals under linux.

7 Days to Die is pretty much most feature-complete from the firstperson survival games, but it lacks 1 big feature imo. Servers are mostly 10-12 players max, some 32... thats nowhere near 100+ like rust has.

Don't Starve is great, but i still havent had time to play the Togheter version.

Beasts of Prey is another one but lacks features atm and itsn't polished enough.
