I'm getting pretty bad framerates (7fps@1920x1080 with minimal settings, VSync and AA disabled) on my laptop (only computer I have access to right now, until I go back home in a few months). Ubuntu 15.10 64bit with a GTX940M (361.18 driver version) and an i7-6700HQ processor.

I didn't expect it to perform great, but this seems like a ridiculously low framerate.

That's one of the games I'm adding in :-D

The others are Trine 3 (she loved 1 & 2, so despite the bad reviews it was imperative she got the 3rd one) and Son of Nor.

I bought 2 Steam Controllers (one that I've been enjoying a lot and a second one that I'll be putting under the Christmas tree together with some Local co-op games)

I'm planning to buy a SteamBox, but I'm not decided yet on which one. I'm also not home very often, so it would mainly be a console for my not so tech-savy family. We currently only have two computers at home (for 4 people) so I think one gaming-oriented one would be a good idea. But we're thinking of buying a laptop as well and that has a higher priority because it's not just for games. The Alienware, ZOTAC and Syber machines are the ones I've been looking at.

I'm disappointed with the Alienware GPU not being replaceable and I haven't seen the ZOTAC prices yet. Although the Syber isn't as aestetically pleasing as the other two, I'm most likely atm to go with a Syber.

Dishonoured was my first reaction too (and it'd be nice) but I don't really see how the picture relates.

The Royal Scam is the fifth album by Steely Dan, originally released by ABC Records in 1976.

There is a song called "The Fez" in the album, but Fez has already been ported, so that's not it.

The lyrics of the title song are:
Spoiler, click me
And they wandered in from the city of St. John
Without a dime
Wearing coats that shined both red and green
Colors from their sunny island

From their boats of iron they looked upon the promised land
Where surely life was sweet
On the rising tide to New York City
Did they ride into the street

See the glory
Of the royal scam

They are hounded down to the bottom of a bad town
Amid the ruins
Where they learn to fear an angry race of fallen kings
Their dark companions

While the memory of their southern sky was clouded by
A savage winter
Every patron saint hung on the wall, shared the room
With twenty sinners

See the glory
Of the royal scam

By the blackened wall he does it all
He thinks he's died and gone to Heaven
Now the tale is told by the old man back home
He reads the letter

How they are paid in gold just to babble in the back room
All night and waste their time
And they wandered in from the city of St. John
Without a dime

See the glory
Of the royal scam

See the glory
Of the royal scam

See the glory
Of the royal scam

May be worth looking into?

As for the image I had to think of the sphynx's riddle in Oedipus, but the child isn't on all fours, so it may be unrelated. If it is the reverse sphynx riddle it could mean "noon". It could also just mean family.

Or should we look into games that scammed us? :-p

Please read the article in full, this is not for suggesting games.
Sorry, I saw suggestions in the other posts so I assumed it was suggestions.

I think a top-3 vote would be good, although I'd rather not have them weighted.

Whether category based or best-gameplay/story/graphics. I personally prefer category, with a little addition as I'd like Best Story to also be included. I don't really care much for Best Graphics and I think "Best Gameplay" is really dependent on whether the game is RTS, RPG, FPS, TSS, P&C, etc.

I know, but I've never installed a kernel ahead of time, so I'm a bit afraid of messing things up.
