Blender and Godot are very good examples of how much open source software can achieve.
Both are the reason why I migrated to Linux last year.
I use Kubuntu since Artful Aardvark and loving it.

HoF2 is a very cool game that outstands easily above the majority of games, actually.

I really like this Game Engine. Im using and studing it on a day regular basis.
