In case you are looking for a way to rebind keys on your Razer (or any) devices, I would like to again suggest "input-remapper", available on Github ( https://github.com/sezanzeb/input-remapper [External Link] ) and Ubuntu repositories. Just about ANY USB device can have an input remapped to any key able to be found on a keyboard, with macro capabilites if you wish. There is plenty of readme material on the Github page to help you sort things out if you are trying macros or functions that are not working as you wish.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyIn this we agree. So many classics are being phased out of college and high school libraries and curriculum and it's disappointing that an entire generation may never know these great works. Books like "To Kill A Mockingbird", "Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl" and "1984" should be works that are encouraged to be read for those grade levels. They inspire critical thinking and teach us about our terrible past in order to NOT have a terrible future, ala "1984".Quoting: StellaI don't get why anyone would want to attack the internet archive??? That's like bombing a library. What's the frikkin pointYes, well, when it comes to the bombing a library thing I keep expecting that to happen in the US. Lot of people these days that don't like libraries lending people the wrong books. Most of them simultaneously claiming to be free speech absolutists . . . some people make my mind boggle.

Quoting: BrokattHow does the AI handle terraforming? Can't image it doing any sort of sensible building. Does it derp out a lot when the path finding gets all mucked up? :)The AI does not terraform that I've seen, nor does it restore terrain once it has been terraformed or damaged due to powerful explosions. Yes, it is possible to box in the AI completely, though I've never been able to do so because it spreads out so quick. Then again, there are spider units, flying units, jumping units, and artillery units/towers, so building walls do not keep you completely safe. Artillery units that shoot fire missles are double dangerous because they can shoot over your walls and fire ignores shields, so the AoE from fire will still damage you.

Pros:
Smoother animations of units
Better animations
More units to make
Cons:
Shields do not 'link' to share power, so overlapping only helps if you actually have two shields getting hit at the same time
Terraforming does not exist
Some unit avatars in the build menu only show part of the unit so you may not be able to tell by the picture what the unit is until you get used to it.
Observations:
In BAR, to access more powerful units, level 1's must build level 2's, which then can build level 3's and the real heavy units. If you prefer an upgrade path then this might be just your thing.
In Zero-K, the only limit to what you can build is getting your economy roaring along, making territory that much more important to conquer and hold for the resources it gives you.
In BAR, you can generate a lot of energy, then use converters to convert excess energy into metal. You would not even need metal extractors at that point so holding territory is less of a resource grab than just keeping the enemy from surrounding you.
I like BAR alot but in Zero-K I enjoy terraforming walls and ditches to funnel the enemy into my defensive towers and deny them the opportunity to just run into my base.

Quoting: MnolegDoes anyone know how this game compares to Zero-K? I spent a lot of time playing Zero-K last year and it become one of my favourite games. Special mention to the huge and diverse singleplayer campaign, which these kind of games usually lack. Kudos to the developers.BAR is Zero-K with the following pros and cons (for me anyways):
Pros:
Smoother animations of units
Better animations
More units to make
Cons:

Cutting jobs that result in spending a few hundred thousand money units less, then giving yourself exponentially MORE cash does NOT help. Were the job cuts supposed to result in saving the company or reduce spending? Did he save the company money? NO, he just lined his pocket with MORE than he 'saved' the company. However;
Businesses exist to make money, not be charities (unless it actually IS a chrarity). The CEO can give himself as much of the companies' money as he can get his grubby hands on; people are in it to make money, that's fine. I do not agree there should be income limits, because, as mentioned, it is just a hop skip and a jump from a different kind of tyranny. I am partial to calling this kind of action Employment Abuse or Financial Abuse or perhaps some better terms someone else can suggest, and having a regulation from a similar department to where anti-trust or other business overwatch originates from.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI think I'd want to claim that when times are tough enough that layoffs are necessary to keep the business solvent, the CEO should not be increasing his pay by more than the money the layoffs save. Really, how hard is this? The above quote is right on the money (see what I did there).

Quoting: KimyrielleThere is absolutely no good reason why we can NOT regulate excessive salaries. There is a saying that goes something like "we were so busy finding out if we COULD, that we didn't ask ourselves if we SHOULD". Excessive salaries, by itself, isn't the problem. "saving" the company money, then pocketting multitudes more than the lost jobs would ever cost the company is where many like-minded people like myself take umbrage.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyMainly because it is actually quite difficult to kill truly massive numbers of people using non-nuclear bombs. Bomb supply is limited, and the victims tend to be unwilling to all stand grouped together in the open for your convenience. Although the systematic starvation is capable of causing much more widespread death. I seem to remember previous cases where a group was trapped in a ghetto and food was systematically stopped from getting in, and although it's slow it does tend to kill them.A few hundred Hamas, supporters, and journalists devastated a non-combative enclave on Oct 7, killing over 1,200 innocents. Your point of having people clustered together making it easier to be killed is exactly on point. I, too, recall a historical time where a Jewish population was genocided on a massive scale. Who were those National Socialist party members, and how long did they court the People Living In The Region Of Palestine (PLITROPs, my own acronym) to assist thier cause? To whom is half the world giving the blind eye treatment today?
So tell me, do you have any idea how callous you're being or is your turning of a blind eye so successful that you're unaware?

Quoting: Purple Library GuyAh, yes, all those vicious Hamas-supporting babies and toddlers. When Hamas chooses to hide in/around/under hospitals, schools, refugee camps and the like, it naturally becomes difficult to only hit the Hamas. We're not talking about a force with established uniforms, insignia, and other identifiable markings, so the choice to fire on suspects has been withheld so many more times than half the world realizes. Innocent victims happen when Hamas takes actions like this.

Quoting: Purple Library GuySince top Israeli officials have repeatedly stated their intentions to do all those things, I'm not sure the fact that they have not yet succeeded means they're not trying to commit genocide. Should we wait until they're all dead before taking issue?I seem to recall that the stated goal of Hamas since its rise to power is the complete genocide of Israelis from the area. I'm not sure the fact that they have not yet succeeded means they're not trying to commit genocide. Should we wait until they're all dead before taking issue?

Perhaps I'm pretty dumb on word meanings, but I have always considered a genocide to be a situation where there is an effort to eliminate an ENTIRE race/class of people.
According to https://worldpopulationreview.com/world-cities/gaza-population [External Link], there are/were ~800,000 people currently in Gaza.
According to https://apnews.com/article/israel-hamas-gaza-war-statistics-95a6407fac94e9d589be234708cd5005 [External Link] as of April 6th, about 35,000 Hamas and Hamas supporters have been killed since the events of October 7.
Shouldn't a genocide be achieving much higher death numbers? Why aren't more Gazans dead if the goal was to eliminate them via genocide?

Quoting: NyxWho needs to remap macros and buttons for their mmo peripherals right?I've mentioned it in another post and the project has been mentioned here on GoL, even once after its name change. This project allows you to re-program just about any input button on any device to mimic any key/key combinations you can type on a keyboard. I use it for my gameboards like the Razer Orbweaver and Tartarus, and it works fine for my Belkin Nostromo n52. I am currently using a Delux T9 just so I don't wear out my beloved Orbweaver, but you can use it for standard keyboards and input peripherals of just about any kind.
It's much better needing win11 installed on the second disk for when you need to change settings.
(This isn't an attack at the devz they are doing a swell job)
But God does razer leave some support to be desired.
I don't know why I get hopeful every time I see these apps updated that just maybe there might be actual functionality but nope I'm still stuck needing a Windows laptop near me or dual boot my system if I want to change my mouse settings, I do have all the rgb options in the world though.
Sorry for strong sarcasm but even ratbag/piper doesn't support razer because they apparently have that functionality locked off or something.
