Alien: Isolation is a terrific horror game, and a franchise I get extremely excited for. Alien: Isolation is also one of the few "Alien" based games that wasn't a let down.

I actually played it on PS4, but I got rid of my copy quite a while ago and never finished it. Honestly, I found it far too scary (that's a good thing). It really does deliver, and it looks like it will come to Linux.

Thanks to SteamDB:

About the game (Official)
HOW WILL YOU SURVIVE?

Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien™, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance.

As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien.

Check out Alien: Isolation on Steam, but don't you dare buy it until the Linux version is out. Don't let yourself be disappointed if it turns out not to be true. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I hate horror games. I am usually too scared to play them. With Alien: Isolation I made an exception, because I love the franchise so much. I peed my pants all the way and finished the story. Great graphics, dense atmosphere and superb voice acting. I will wait and play the DLCs on linux (I have an AMD card though, so maybe not).

I've played this with Oculus Rift.

Quoting: GuestI really hope this pushes Sega to realize they should be porting their games to Linux.
Sega is already the best Japanese company when it comes to bringing games to Linux. All those games brought to or promised for Linux by Sega have been Western games, however. I still hope that Bandai Namco is watching and decides to bring over Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, Tales of Symphonia, and Tales of Zestiria.

I don't know if I would like this game or not but if the price is right, it runs well and it isn't a VP port I may just have to pick it up to show support.

Brave soul. :P

A buddy of mine just informed me yesterday that a guy he works with took a DK2 + $$ in exchange for some work thinking his laptop would handle it (it doesn't). I told him to find out if he wants to sell it and for how much if he does. I've got my fingers crossed he doesn't want to deal with trying to sell it on ebay or craigslist and will take next to nothing for it (like $150ish). At the very least I told him to get him to bring it over to my place so we can all try it out. My rig will certainly handle it and I've never tried anything like it so I'm kinda excited. Hopefully I'm not one of those people it makes nauseous.

How cool is that? I love the Alien franchise, and I'm really happy that this game has signs of Linux support.
Slowly I don't know anymore, what I (really) whish to have on SteamOS/Linux :) Lately Evolve shows signs of Linux support, now Alien: Isolation. And I asked them already on Gamescom if there will be a Linux version. Finally those hopes have good chances to come true.
Exciting times for Linux gaming.
Even though I already completed the main game, I'll be more than happy to enjoy the DLCs on Linux then.

This is awesome news, I already have the game and all DLC, just haven't played it because I hate booting into Windows.

I was tempted to buy it for the PS4, and get the Camera, from what I've read it's one of the few games to take advantage of it. You can peer around corners with the head tracking, and apparently if you're talking in the room, the Alien will hear you. Now if you could do something like that and add the VR headset to it....

I just bought this on PS4 :( I'll likely return that and support Linux instead. Plus, PC power and SteamOS :)

Which games? I wasn't aware they have ported any of their own games to Linux, as in the Sonic series. I thought Sega have only been publishers so far.

Sega Supports with the Football Manager Series Linux from Day One.
