Feral Interactive Are Teasing Us, Again

By - | Views: 39,276
Feral Interactive are teasing us with a picture somehow related to an unannounced Linux and Mac port.

A promise is a promise! Here’s a cryptic teaser for an unannounced Mac/Linux game. It’s tricky. Real tricky. Enjoy! pic.twitter.com/ISo6WW3zWW

They did add a new game to their feral radar recently, and we believe that it's Alien: Isolation.

It's not clear if this new teaser is about that same unannounced radar signal, or another new unannounced port.

Personally, I think it's great that they tease us, but they still have to deliver on Shadow of Mordor yet. We are a patient bunch though, and whatever it is, it will be awesome I'm sure. If Feral could release Mordor before the end of July, that would be a swell birthday present for me, hint hint.

What say you gamers? What do you think this new teaser is for? A google reverse image search claims it's to do with "Islamic Golden Age". Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Tricky is the name of a classic Run DMC song, more importantly, it had a music video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-O5IHVhWj0

At the beginning of the video there are a couple of guys scamming a woman with 3 Card Monte. You may recognize these two individuals as the famed magic/comedy duo Penn & Teller (long before the peak of their fame). Teller's act is that of a mime, he never speaks, which is reminiscent of Harpo Marx of the Marx Brothers who also was a mime as part of his comedy act. Marxism had a great influence on the molding and rise to power of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. The game is Wolfenstein: The New Order or The Old Blood. :P

Oh man that was pure poetry. A masterpiece. Magnificent.

... And a great game too. So let's hope you nailed it!

Quoting: BeamboomWaaaait a second: Could this be related to the recent finding in Birmingham? 'Oldest' Koran fragments found in Birmingham University?

http://www.bbc.com/news/business-33436021

Ergo this has more to do with Birmingham, or libraries, than the Koran or islam?

The original image from Feral was a scan of "A Thousand and One Nights," which predates the advent of Islam, so it's not directly related to the Qur'an or Islam. If it is related to anything Arabic or Persian though, any game about the Middle East (including Assassin's Creed) or Central/South Asia is a possibility. Many say the original story came from India or Persia rather than Arabia. But that's probably too easy of a guess. I'm sticking with the Witcher 3 because I want it more. :)

This is not true. The image posted by Feral is from the Islamic era, well after the advent of Islam. Also, the "A Thousand and One Nights" book is a collection of folklore tales that predates Islam, but collecting them into one book with this specific name happened in the Islamic era. However, none of this has anything to do with the Koran. I am guessing the game in question is Prince of Persia.

I didn't say the manuscript predated the "Islamic era." I meant the stories from it did (many of them, anyway).

Quoting: gojulTo be honest I'd really prefer they release something or at least give us a status about Shadow of Mordor. (technical issue ? ...) Hey Feral, don't tease, release !
How about teases and releases? :D See, it's not a case of "tease or release" it's a case of "tease or not tease". And this is really fun. One of you was getting sooooo close to unravelling the clue yesterday...

Ah, Sonic Adventure 2 then? :P
rustybroomhandle Jul 23, 2015
Following on from someone else in this thread's theory... is it the upcoming "Lara Croft: Rise of the Tomb Raider"?

Quote"Somehow" is definitely the key word here. You're all so good at figuring these things out that we decided to make this one ridiculously tricky...6

So if anything, I'd say the safest guess of ALL is that this hint has nothing whatsoever to do with "A Thousand and One Nights" or theories directly related to that. We have to look wider!

... But where? Now that's anyones guess :)

The Elder Scrolls?
FredO Jul 23, 2015
Sonic and the Secret Rings was based on "A thousand and One Nights", but it was on the Wii. So what about Sonic Generations?
ricki42 Jul 23, 2015
Quoting: rustybroomhandleOk... 1001 as binary converted to decimal is 9.

It's Elder Scrolls: Oblivion! From the Steam page:
"included in the Game of the Year edition are Knights of the Nine..."
'Knights' sounds like 'nights' and 9 is 1001, so '1001 Nights' = 'Knights of the Nine'!
Please be true!
