GOL Asks: What have you been playing on Linux & SteamOS recently?

By - | Views: 47,182
It's time for another edition of "GOL Asks", and today I am asking about games you have been playing and loving or hating recently.

I will open up the floor to you, my lovely users to tell everyone what you have be doing. I haven't asked this question for a few months, so it will be interesting to see what people have moved onto.

Personally, I got a little bit sucked into Galak-Z recently, as you might have noticed by the article. I'm the worst pilot in the word, but I love it. I really need to do another Alien: Isolation livestream, but my god, there's not enough RUM in the world to make me do that ;) Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I'm still trying to survive This War of Mine,
solved my first puzzles in The Talos Principle: Road To Gehenna
and I had a great session of Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime with my non-gaming fiancé!

I've been playing Hard West, a damn good turn-based tactical game, and Vendetta: Curse of Raven's Cry, a pirate RPG that's quite clunky and cheesy in many ways that I'm nevertheless having a ton of fun with (being able to roam the seas on a man o war probably has a lot to do with my enjoyment factor).

The Talos Principle: Road To Gehenna. (Just finished - really good DLC)
Chaos Reborn.
Dungeon Defenders.
Alien Isolation.

Me, I played this here visual novel: Brilliant Shadows. I can recommend it, for what it's worth, if you're into these sort of things. It's no high literature, but it has a few interesting ideas, and is less cliché than a lot of other VNs.

After finishing Shadow of Mordor, I am now playing The Witcher 2 and my annual play of Grim Fandango remastered.

Finishing up Shadow of Mordor.
Bought Cryptark but my rig can't handle it. :(
Alien: Isolation but a little too scary for me.
Before that Pillars of Eternity, kinda taking a break from that.
Kingdom, a little.

Your PC can handle Mordor, but not Cryptark? Was that a weird joke? It's a simple 2D game.

My girl plays Ark as her chillout from work game.

I seem to be buying games & playing little coz work, but its nice to have a selection.

Picked up Road Redemption & a Steam Controller, RR seems like N64ish.

Storm United is my #1 game of interest right now with Steam Controller or Xbox 360 Controller.

Just played through "DEX: Enhanced Edition", a cyberpunk platformer with quite a lot of rpg influences. Much better than I had hoped or expected, if only the graphics had been awesome like those of 2D platformers "Stasis" (coming to Linux) or "Deadlight" (windows only), then I think I would have giving it full marks.

However, as the graphical art is only decent/reasonably appealing, this lowers the athmosphere/ambience of the cyberpunk world quite a bit, so.....8/10
