The GOL GOTY Awards page is open for nominations, voting after

By - | Views: 12,216
Welcome to our second year of doing a GOTY Awards, this year we added many more categories based on feedback.

Right now it's only open for nominations, so you can add as many as you wish. On January 1st it will open for voting.

Based on feedback from last year, we won't allow anyone to see the current results as they come in, so we don't have a bias going on for the top games.

We should also have some pretty graphs ready for the results too, something I have worked on in the background for a little while.

Head over to the GOTY page and get nominating.

I welcome all feedback and bug reports in the comments. I'm hoping I ironed out all the bugs. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Is "Portal Stories: Mel" a free game? It is a free fan DLC for Portal 2...

If it requires any form of payment to get into it, no it's not a free game.

Yeah, sounds reasonable.

Edit: We haven't got an article about Mel yet?!? I need to write one!

Do games which were in early access prior to 2015 but given their official release in 2015 count for this? I'm thinking Kerbal Space Programme.

Of course, if the game was fully release in 2015 then it would go in the category you think best.

Ps. Please guys, do us a favour and get the correct spellings of the games ;)

Does DLC count as an update, or a separate game?

Doh, I knew I forgot one important category. There's now a DLC category.

You forgot the biggest joke of 2015 category.

I guess it's not a fair race - nothing can touch Divinity: Original Sin as the biggest joke of the year!

We decided against having anything to put a downer on anyone/developer. Too much hostility around already, no need in an award system.

Ps. You funny people, Ubuntu will not be accepted for FOSS project category, come on :P
