Our friends over at Virtual Programming are hard at work on porting Overlord, Overlord: Raising Hell and Overlord II to Linux. They left a funny little message for us on SteamDB too.

I do love developers with a sense of humour, and VP have certainly worked on theirs. Their ports have come a long way too, and I look forward to more from them.

For those that don't know, the Overlord titles are a mix of a few different genre's in a fantasy setting. I very much look forward to being the evil overlord in a game as you don't get that opportunity often. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I do have all of them in my library (from Codemasters bundle I guess). I will give them a try, and if they turn out to be good and keep me in front of pc for more than 10 hours, then I guess I will provide some money to VP, just to support them for the new port and will give the key to someone in need (maybe my girlfriend, maybe someone from this page, let's see if this happens).

Yes, can't wait! I loved Overlord on the Wii!

Sad that I finished the first on on windows earlier - thus no longer have the save games for the expansion/ol2 (I don't think steam sync is implemented).
Though, I'll surely give this one a go again - sweet! :)

I never heard of these games. Still good to see more titles on the penguin, though.

Overlord 2 were really great fun on the ps3. It's got a solid metascore too so this is a safe purchase of you like what you see in a trailer or two.

Now this is where a wrapper is actually appropriate - an older title (this is 9 years old) like Overlord. As long as the performance is good, I'll be very happy to play it with their Eon wrapper. It's a very good game. I guess it would be considered a third person strategy game.

I love these games, I'm REALLY happy that they're finally getting a Linux port as it's another reason less for me to fire up Windows, you know you're in for a fun game when at the very beginning your character is dug up from his grave & one of the imp creatures offers to rub acid in your eyes to clear your vision.

I love the Overlord series, they are the better and of course much funnier Pikmin. Their writing was done by the lovely nerdy Rhianna Pratchett, daughter of the marvelous Sir Terry Pratchett, author of the famous Discworld novels, who died almost a year ago. I highly recommend the Overlord games to everyone, regardless if you already played them or not.

Whack some sheep for the master! :)

I'm happy to read this, but I'm waiting for Saint Row II and III (VP ports)? There are no news about this games?

I thought they would have been released by now. We have IV and GooH but II and III are honestly the best in the series. Last I heard "ports are currently in beta, should be out before too long" but that statement was a while ago and probably in reference to the SR ports already released.

Bought them ages ago and never played. It seems to be the right time now :)
