Update: It was on purpose, it's the real deal. See this comment. Article updated to reflect this new info.

Feral Interactive have updated their teaser radar to show that Life Is Strange is coming to Linux/SteamOS and Mac. The only official announcement for now is Mac App Store, but it is now confirmed to be coming to Linux. We already sort of knew this thanks to SteamDB info

Looks like it was the "Drifting Snows" teaser they sent out in April.

Oh Feral, how we love you.

About the game (Official)
Life Is Strange is a five part episodic game that sets out to revolutionise story based choice and consequence games by allowing the player to rewind time and affect the past, present and future.

You are Max, a photography senior who saves her old friend Chloe by discovering she can rewind time. The pair soon find themselves exposed to the darker side of Arcadia Bay as they uncover the disturbing truth behind the sudden disappearance of a fellow student.

Meanwhile, Max begins to have premonitions as she struggles to understand the implications of her power. She must quickly learn that changing the past can sometimes lead to a devastating future. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Awesome news. So the Nut and Snow Drift clue turned into Life Is Strange. That is strange.

the game is amazing, unique, and even made my cry. definitely recommend it, played it on windows though I do recommend using a gamepad, mouse controls are not bad but gamepad is simply better (with the mouse you have clickon an object and then drag the mouse to the words to perform an action, while on controller you just have to look at it and press the X, Y, A or B button to perform an action (or square, triangle circle X)

If the nut/snow clues relate to the story, then it's no surprise that nobody gets it.

Quoting: ellieferalThis one was on purpose, would ya believe it!

That means that the web devs are not in detention. Any chance of prodding them to fix the radar on Firefox? Now I have to start up Chromium just for the radar.

Quoting: wojtek88It means teaser "Drifting Snows" was about Life is Strange. For me it's weird and it is super disappointing. I was expecting DIRT: Rally and it looks it is not ported by Feral (maybe it is not ported at all).
If this teaser was not about DIRT: Rally I assume DOOM is also not the one that was announced with "808 SB12S" clue. Disappointing.

I thought DIRT:Rally was the African drum clue ;-)

About DOOM, if "they" wanted to bring it to Linux, then it would surely be done in-house by ID Software. After-all the engine is based on OpenGL (and Vulkan support has been shown too), and Doom3 had a Linux client released by them too. I think Doom is stopped by marketing/sales only.

We're bringing it to the Mac App Store first, which is why we've focussed the spotlight on them for now, but we will bring it to Linux too. It's awesome, we want you to have it.

Thanks for clearing it up, article adjusting to reflect that.

Quoting: rustybroomhandleYup, definitely pining for more of this sort of thing on Linux.

Yeah, that's what we reckoned too. This one's a bit different to our usual releases; we're pretty excited to stir things up a bit.

Sure, one mo.

Great to see it confirmed!

Now that is a surprise, I recall the dev explaining that due to middleware issues, it wasn't possible to port this one. But they did say they wanted to be more careful with future games to ensure cross-platform releases. Nice that Feral seems to have found a way around the issue.

I am a bit put off from the apparent

in the ending(s), which I read about back when I thought there was no chance I would ever play it. Might be worth playing for the rest of the experience anyhow, I'll have to think about it.

(edited because I don't know how to tag today, apparently.
