I love XCOM 2, it's probably my favourite strategy game right now. The problem is, it's still a bit of a buggy mess, a lovable mess mind you.

I've played 47 49 hours of the game, and I do feel like certain aspects of it are lacking. I will keep searching for you, but here's some quick picks. There's thousands of modifications available for XCOM 2, so even these took a while of sifting through junk.

These have all been tested as working properly on Linux, and they work together without conflicts.

1) After Action - Days Wounded
It's really simple, it just adds a counter to show how long your soldiers are wounded for after a mission. It's in the vanilla game apparently, but does the wrong call, so it's essentially fixing a bug.

2) Quick soldier info
It puts icons at the top of the screen of all the units you control, along with their HP/Armour, status effects and action points remaining.

3) Show More Buff Details
Want to know how long you're poisoned for? Now you can.

4) Title Menu Continue Button
Why is this not in the Vanilla game? Exactly what the name suggests, continue your last save without loading up the list of saves.

They don't really change the gameplay, so it doesn't change the actual balance of the game which is why I like them. They don't really give you any extras, just add a little to the UI.

It's a basic list, but enough to get you starter if you have been worried about testing any out.

Here's mine:
Lifetime stats
Lets you know how well have performed over the course of the game time.

international voices pack
More voices including Russian and Polish for that immersion.

evac all
Gets all units in the evac area out with a single click.

show me the skills
Lets you know what soldiers have which skills when deploying without having to go into the bio.

blackmarket usage
Lets you know if the items you're selling still have any other use.

new countries
Who doesn't want Czech and Peruvian recruits?

stop wasting my time
Skips over obligatory cutscenes and dialog in missions. As well as weapon pauses and speeds up movement animations.

If any one could give me some advice on how this runs on AMD FX processors. I was thinking about picking this game up, but under the requirements AMD processors are not listed. I just want to make sure I wont regret purchasing this.

Works fine on my FX-8350. I think it's more GPU dependent.

But yeah, I also use the days wounded one. All the mods I use are for streamlining, showing more information in places, or just cosmetic stuff - I haven't actually tried any gameplay mods yet. Maybe after I beat the game on Legend.

Edit - forgot they renamed 'Impossible' difficulty to 'Legend'

Wow, I am currently subscribed to 41 mods, after going through the list a while back, and I still hadn't heard of Quick Soldier Info or Show More Buff Details, both of which sound good.

In the interest of mods that don't really change game balance, here are a few more I'm using:

1. Show Enemies on Mission Planning
This just replicates the information from the Shadow Chamber from the screen where you select a mission to the screen where you select and outfit your soldiers. If you're like me, you used the information to select a mission and then immediately forgot it when outfitting your soldiers. This mod will help your prepare for the enemies you'll be facing without a whole bunch of tedious screen switching.

2. More Maps Pack
3. World Expansion Project: ADVENT
4. Maps by Vozati
Several mods that add additional map plots and parcels to the map generation pool, just to spice up your locations a bit.

Mods that technically change balance a little bit:

5. Stabilize Me!
This mod lets soldiers stabilize a downed soldier who is carrying a medikit with his own medikit; i.e., no more bleeding-out deaths for your single medic while his comrades stand around looking helpless. I feel like this should be in the base game.

6. Haywire Protocol bug fix for turret control
According the ability description, Haywire Protocol is supposed to make hacked turrets remain yours forever, however, by default they only remained hacked for a few turns, just like mech units. This mod fixes that. Note that having a hacked turret remain yours indefinitely isn't as big of a game-changer as you might think: since turrets are stationary it's likely only get two or three (mostly ineffectual) shots off before your front moves past it and it can't help you any more. It does save you having to kill the thing when the hack wears off, though.
