What have you been playing and what are your thoughts?

It's been a while since I last asked and plenty of games have been released or updated since then. Let's get talking.

For me, the usual Rocket League has been played a lot recently. Especially with the new in-game event going on, the Spike Rush game mode (video) is a huge amount of fun and it's pretty ridiculous. Even the normal game modes continue to keep the game as my #1, it's gotten to the point where I'm attempting all sorts of insane goals. It's still free to try until tomorrow at 5PM UTC with a 50% off sale on Steam.

Plenty more Dota Underlords as well of course, I'm absolutely terrible at it but it's also stupidly engrossing. I like that I can quickly go for a toilet break or to grab a drink when needed, since you don't have to be at your PC during the battles if you have to run for a minute.

Apart from that, Eagle Island continues to pull plenty of my attention. Such a sweet game and really quite a challenge at times. I've especially enjoyed jumping into the Roguelite mode to continue playing after the story is all done.

I also let the mini-me try out Bastion, while it's not a game I personally enjoy as I find the narrator a little irritating, he seems to love it on the more casual game mode and he's getting surprisingly good at it.

Do let everyone know what you've been playing and if it's worth picking up in the comments.

I've just finished Firewatch. I quite liked it, the writing and voice acting are excellent (even if the ending is a bit anticlimatic...), so it's definitely a recommendation if you like story-focused games in the same vein as Tacoma or Life is Strange.

Also finished the main campaign of Arkham Knight (running through Lutris, the game is broken on Proton for some reason). It's quite good, but unfortunately Rocksteady seems to have has taken a page from the Ubisoft book : the game is artificially padded with repetitive missions and it takes hours of painful grinding to get to the "real" ending. Quite disappointing when it's supposed to be the climax of the series.

Quoting: PlintslîchoBattlefield Bad Company 2. This is the first Battlefield game that I've played and I still think it's one of the best multiplayer FPS. No other game like it. Unfortunately, Punkbuster isn't working properly in Wine, so, sadly, no multiplayer. =(
Playing this through Proton multiplayer this game works fine for me, and it's a blast. I've played Battlefield 4, 5, and One via Lutris, and I think many ranking lists out there are correct that BF:Bad Company 2 is the best of them, especially for multiplayer. The Maps are terrific, really epic, and so well balanced. The downside is that the people left on multiplayer after all these years have mad skills, making MP a fairly unforgiving environment. The absolute best I've managed on MP is mid-pack...

BTW: I think I've decided that the Battlefields are my favorite FPS so far. Sure, Insurgency is more realistic and nail biting, and the COD series is faster paced action, but the Battlefields have the best mix of realism and gaming (it's supposed to be fun in the end) and its degree of immersion in the environment is just unmatched.

Quoting: AcrophobicI've been playing Terraria lately. I've never played sandbox game before but I've heard many good thing about it. Since it was dirt cheap on last sale, I bought it. Unfortunately, I don't really like it, but somehow I can't stop playing it.

That does sound strange.
Like some drug...

Played mostly Elex through steam/proton this weekend, the gameplay brings some of the Gothic nostalgia back :)

Some underlord and some borderlands 2.
I'm still excited for the new dlc, gonna play it when it arrives on Linux or if it arrives -_-'.
Judging by the eta on the HD pack release, I think im gonna have to wait for a while, still bl2 on vault hunter mode is fun :).

And Underlord, I did play it on pc but It works best on phone in my opinion. It's great and addictive.

Iv also played some albion online, it's grindi, but Iv mostly been checking out the game and done some pvp. And it's Okey I guess.

Mount & Blade Warband. All day, every day. People who say cocaine is addictive never played that game.

Rise of the tomb raider: Works really well on my entry-level GPU. The gameplay is similar to Tomb raider (2013) which is nice because I enjoyed it a lot. I just finished the main story and I am now looking at the DLCs.

Brutal legend: It has been sitting in my library for ever and I finally decided to give it a go. I am just a the beginning but it is really fun so far.
