Surviving Mars from Paradox Interactive and originally Haemimont Games from 2018 is being revived and expanded under a different developer named Abstraction.

Paradox will be launching an In-Dome Buildings Pack, developed in partnership with long-time community modder Silva. In addition, a free Tourism Update is planned to launch on Monday, March 15. The Tourism Update that will be free for everyone adds in an RC Safari, adds buildings, and more with Paradox saying we can expect some of the most requested tourism features to be added in with rewards and consequences.

"Since the launch of Surviving Mars: Green Planet, our players have been asking what’s next for Surviving Mars. The Tourism Update is just the beginning. The game is in good hands with Abstraction, they’re a team of veteran developers with years of experience making AAA titles and are passionate about Surviving Mars,” Magnus Lysell, Product Manager for Surviving Mars at Paradox Interactive, said. “We’re humbled by the overwhelming support for Surviving Mars. 5 million players is huge and we can’t wait to share what’s next with all of you soon!”

More exciting, is that they also confirmed a "fully-featured" expansion for Surviving Mars is in the works and will launch at some point in 2021.

If you don't own Surviving Mars, it's available for Linux from Humble Store, GOG, Paradox and Steam.

Paradox are also doing a new event called PDXCON Remixed between May 21-23 with a new Paradox Development Studio title to be revealed then.

Quoting: NugrudIs it possible to get linux native version from Epic Games Store that was giving it away for free recently?
On GOG you can have a native Linux version ... I have been playing it for quite some time now on Ubuntu 18.04.
The advantage of GOG is that it is DRM free.

Jokes aside, actually without pollinators and wind or animals to distribute seeds, plants would not spread on their own regardless of other favourable conditions.
Once you've increased the atmosphere to Earth-like pressures, there's gonna be wind. Though it's a good point about animal-based seed spreading…clearly the solution is to allow us to introduce animals to start spreading plants about the planet faster!

I heard taking some thousand *inserthighlypopulatedcountryhere* people with brushes could work as well. ;)

Interesting tidbit that I noticed is that buildings for the In-Dome Buildings Pack have been made in Blender. Reference: https://store.steampowered.com/newshub/app/464920/view/5101988315910690730 (article goes through the new buildings in bit more detail)

Made in a blender? What are they made of, paper mache?

Continuing the cooking theme. You can bake in Blender...animations.
So, I'm trying out the new buildings pack, and it's quite good. Most of them are larger or smaller variations of pre-existing buildings, giving you a lot more flexibility for supporting larger or smaller domes. E.g., there's a 1-tile security post now if the 3-tile normal version is too large, there's now a smart apartment complex so you no longer have to choose between the comfort of smart homes and the capacity of apartments, etc., etc.. I haven't unlocked the new workshop yet, but apparently it's a way to gain money besides just exporting rare metals to Earth (and some technologies), which sounds great.

FYI, the "In-Dome Buildings Pack" is already available (the article above implies it's coming soon), and you can get it over here:
https://www.gog.com/game/surviving_mars_indome_buildings_pack

Or if you're more of a "Steam" kinda guy / girl:

If you're a "First Colony Edition" owner, you will need to pay extra for this one (all the DLC is usually free for "First Colony Edition" owners), though... At least on GOG.com you do; I'm assuming it's the same for Steam.

I believe it wasn't available at the time the article was written (I looked), but released a scant day or two later.

I figured that, but I posed the links in hope they would update the article with the direct links, now that it is actually available...
