The free Indonesia update for art of rally is out now

By - | Views: 19,356

Continuing to expand to some gorgeous locations to race through, the free Indonesia update for art of rally is out now.

Their release announcement was short and to the point noting that the new update features 6 new tracks, 2 new songs and a whole new free-roam area for you to practice in too. This has bumped up the content since release to a rather impressive 78 stages across the likes of Finland, Sardinia, Norway, Japan, Germany, Kenya and Indonesia. With over 50 cars too, there's plenty to keep you entertained in this one now.

Back at release in my article I mentioned it is "a racing experience that pulls away all the fluff, puts it back to the basics of you and the car wrapped up in a visually striking look that I can easily and quite happily recommend" and I still happily stick by that. Great little racing game and perfect for the Steam Deck too.

You can buy art of rally for Linux from GOG, Humble Store and Steam.

This is such a great game! I can only recommend with the visuals, great soundtrack and fun driving.

My only gripe, which may seem contradictory to me recommending the game, is the controls. It sometimes feels very binary, where even the slightest adjustment to direction, causes the wheels to feel like they turn completely. Its hard to describe, but following long curved roads can be quiet hard compared to other games. Unfortunately, the developers do not seem interested in fixing it. But once you get over that and learn that you must drive like with a keyboard, it is very fun!

They do have driver assist options available now in settings. Do not know which update.

You can choose a number with the higher numbers taking a lot of the sensitivity out of it. Choose your own arcade experience. Play the game on PlayStation and I think it defaults to driver assist on max settings. I had to dial it down a bit, because the physics felt wrong on maximum.

Have a look in settings. There somewhere. Might be separate settings for steering and break assist.

This is probably my most played game on my Steamdeck after almost never getting played at all on my main PC. The tracks are a perfect length for "pick up and play" gaming.
