Following a success on Kickstarter, turn-based pixel-art JRPG inspired title Quartet now has a demo available with Native Linux support. The Kickstarter back in 2021 pulled in a nice $54,203 towards development so it's good to see some activity letting players experience a little of it.

About the game: A series of train robberies leads to evidence of a government conspiracy. A mysterious deck of cards gives a young girl a vision of another world. A fleet of deadly airships burns a path across the Imperial frontier. The world’s unlikeliest hero manifests tremendous magical power. These stories intertwine in the world of Quartet. Before it is all over, the eight heroes will uncover how a secret, centuries-old conflict literally reshaped the world. Then they will have their own decision to make about the destiny of magic.

Their most recent video is a bit old but should give some insight into what they're doing with it:

The developer also recently mention on their Steam forum they will "definitely have Linux (and SteamDeck) support at launch". Will be great to see another Kickstarted game release with the promised Linux support. It's due for a full release sometime in Q1 2024.

Try out the demo on Steam now.

Literally reshaped the world? What, it's flat now?

Probably just continental drift. It happens all the time, and people do call it a conspiracy theory ;)

This is the kind of game I'm interested in playing at the moment. So it's great to see that Quartet will be available on Linux. In my opinion, game publishers should include Linux at launch by default.
