Blending GTA with Deus Ex, Streets of Rogue 2 gets a first trailer

By - | Views: 25,305

As a big fan of the original game, I'm very excited for Streets of Rogue 2. Giving you a big unpredictable open world that combines elements of GTA, Deus Ex and various sandbox games. The first trailer was shown off during Gamescom.

You'll be able to explore a lively world where everything is destructible. According to the info I was sent Streets of Rogue 2's procedurally-generated map is more than 100 times the size of a level from the first game. That's…pretty big actually. Exciting! In the game you'll see a nice variety of locations including neon-lit cities, the serene countryside, mysterious caves, sunlit islands, and creepy graveyards.

Last I spoke to developer Matt Dabrowski it was still getting Native Linux support. But we'll know more closer to release.

From the press release: “I'm super excited to finally reveal gameplay footage for Streets of Rogue 2! It's been a long time coming,” said Matt Dabrowski, creator of the Streets of Rogue franchise. “Streets of Rogue 2 is the culmination of nearly 10 years of ongoing work on the series. It's a truly massive project that frankly makes the original game look like a prototype. I'm looking forward to getting this into everyone's hands via Early Access next year!”

It enters Early Access in 2024. You can follow it on Steam.

Excited for this! Adore the first game - think it's one of the most creative indies I've ever played, and the amount of agency it gives the player is imo unparalleled. Developer is great too.

2024 suddenly seems way too far away!

The first one was extremely fun, and the second one seems to be only better about everything.

I need this game in my veins right now!!!
First one was amazing (played the early betas and reported some bugs too), and I hope this one will be just as fun, if not more.
