Last Epoch recently released on Steam with Native Linux support, an offline mode and controller support but the developers at Eleventh Hour Games plan to keep improving it all.

In an update posted on Steam the developer noted that there's patches due soon for lots of reported issues, and they plan to continue weekly updates to keep fixing up issues and acting on player feedback.

There were quite a number of server issues though, as it was a lot more popular than expected. It's another early 2024 Steam hit, seeing a peak player count of 264,708 players online at the same time 3 days ago. Things are calmer now but it did show up some "unanticipated bottlenecks" in their backend and they said to expect more information later about the cause.

Some more good news is that we can expect to see more localization improvements, major content planned for a 1.1 update including more work from player feedback and a "heavy emphasis on expanding end-game content" as they said they are "wholly committed to making the best ARPG in the genre, and listening to our amazing community is a big part of that".

For players on Steam Deck or PC with a gamepad, expect more improvements there. While the 1.0 release had an "immense amount of gamepad updates" they have "a lot of updates coming before 1.1 that will improve the experience even further, including better navigation of certain panels" as they plan to release LE on consoles so they're going to ensure gamepad is a "top notch" experience.

I'm having an absolute blast playing the new Falconer class. So much fun! Throwing bombs all over the map while my bird friend attacks anything that moves. It's a unique class I haven't really played before in any arpg.

I'm really having a blast with this game, I've always been a fan of well made lore. I've tried other ARPGs but this one looks really special to me. Not only that but after the fact they finally fixed the characters screen on Linux, I feel really good about buying it.

The devs also look really focused on keeping a good game and they look passionate. Something a bit odd these days on the game industry.

Definitely a good game in my opinion.

I'm really excited to get this game and give it a go! I have been looking for another ARPG to sink my teeth into.

This game really is insanely good.
There are so many build paths you can take and synergies you can seek out right from the get-go, not just in end-game.
Appreciate you covering this title. One of the best ARPGs released in recent years.
