A fresh small Steam Beta was released, and for those of you on Steam Deck who play non-Steam games and emulators it's going to be a useful one.

Initially the Steam Beta update came with these two adjustments:

General

  • For games that have not released yet, display the release information in game hovers when available.
  • Fixed an issue with padding for friends in the game invite dialog.

But then Valve re-released it to add in another fix they noted was for Steam Deck:

Steam Input

  • Fixed a case where exiting a non-Steam game could leave controllers w/o input until you hit the guide button or QAM button.

So if you noticed some weird input issues, perhaps that will get it fixed for you.

That is an annoying bug. There's another related bug where making changes to gyro will disable gyro input until I hit the QAM button and close it.
