Eets was the first game made by Don't Starve developer Klei Entertainment, which just got updated for their 20th anniversary along with a Native Linux version.

What is it? From the Steam page: "Eets may have a cute outer-shell, but its Lemmings meets The Incredible Machine gameplay, crazy characters and over 100 increasingly tricky puzzles quickly sucks in even the most seasoned player. "

Eets new Native Linux port on Fedora KDE

In a Steam announcement Klei said:

"Some time back, Eets, the very first game released by Klei Entertainment, became too old to play on modern PCs, and in 2015 it was delisted and no longer available for purchase.

In an effort to preserve the game for ourselves and our fans, we’ve updated the game to be playable once again, and we’re releasing the game free of charge to commemorate our 20th anniversary.

We’ve come a long way, and we appreciate every one of you who has supported us on this adventure.

We hope you enjoy this slice of Klei history, and thank you for the opportunity to create more adventures for you to enjoy in the future."

Game porter and FNA creator, Ethan Lee, posted on X / Twitter:

"Some time ago I quietly restored the original Eets to work on modern PCs - in addition to Windows and macOS there is now a native Linux version as well! D3D8 and DirectSound got replaced with FNA3D and FAudio respectively."

The game is supposed to be free forever now, but Steam shows it as a 100% discount until June 15th. Presumably there's just a tickbox missed somewhere to make it properly free. I'm sure it will be corrected eventually. Still, a nice classic free game to claim for you and now with modernised Linux support too.
