Title: Shadow of Mordor Linux release date?
Page: 2/2

According to the rumors Steam summer sales will start from June 11 up to 22 though a special Encore Sale will reportedly take place on June 20.
So my best guess is that they will release the game before Steam sales....

But technically we still have spring :P

what did you expect really, if you used amd gpu for some time, you should already know that there are countless problems with different games, different driver versions and opensource drivers doesnt bring enough perfromance and dont support latest GL versions.

it will probably still work, just not officialy supported, given the shitty state of amd drivers

Just 2 cents from my side - it's not a good idea to build gaming platform that runs on Linux and has AMD hardware.
Of course it can still work, and it is possible that you will be happy with it, but for now NVidia has better support (even if we keep in mind what Linus said not so long ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_36yNWw_07g ).
I know that many can even tell that it is not a good idea to build gaming platform that runs Linux at all, but I guess we all hope that Valve will succeed and soon it won't be true at all.
Anyway, missing support for AMD in Shadow of Mordor is something that is unfortunately not surprising.

I noticed last night that around 7gbs were added to both the Mac and Linux depots on steam; as well as some activity with the binaries. Hopefully the release is coming soon :D

We are rapidly running out of "Spring 2015". If Feral are going to be true to their word then that means the game has to release by Saturday, as Sunday is the first day of Summer.

I highly doubt it will release within a few days. No clue what's going on, but we just have to remain cool about it. It will come eventually.

Any update? I kind of had hope that Shadow of Mordor will be my choice for rainy summer days and Batman will be the game that I will play in fall, but it seems that both plans will fail...

I'd say there is a slight chance they try to get the game into a state where they can label it "supported" for AMD as well. This could involve changes to the SoM code base and waiting for a new Catalyst that might have specific fixes.

Hope You're right, fingers crossed that they will release soon stable version. My euros are waiting for it.

Feral has it listed as "Very Soon" on their upcoming releases page (the categories are "Quite Soon", "Soon", "Very Soon", and "Out Now!" ), so it would seem the release is imminent, but the lack of an announced release date is a little frustrating.

It's been in the Very Soon category for a few months or so now :|

I meant to share this as soon as I saw it, but I guess it slipped my mind. This is apparently from a [Feral representative on Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/3amyiz/shadow_of_mordor/csfor2z):

We'll ship as soon as the game is ready, we don't want to ship a game that isn't great on Linux (and Mac). Unfortunately our quest to make the game as great as possible means we have just missed the end of Spring.
We are working flat out on getting the game out of our offices and into your hands. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work on the final polish.

I just caught someone from here playing SOM on steam  I came here looking for news of it being released after seeing him/her playing.

Looks like Feral has had "press" and "privatebeta" depots for a few days now and I'm pretty sure this particular "someone" isn't a filthy dual booter like myself so maybe "soon™" really is soon. ;)

We have no idea what's causing the hold up, but we know it will be worth the wait that's for sure.

Keep strong, keep believing!
