I launched SR3 today and I can't play with my x360 controller ?
It works fine with Debian Jessie but with Stretch maybe there is an issue.
I really doubt they updated the game the last months.
Aren't there 2 versions of it, wireless and wired?
Does it work with other games, beside SR3/SR4?
Does lsusb showing your controller?
For example (xbox controller, not xbox360):
lsusbIf yes, is there a input-device called js0 (/dev/input/js0)?
Yes, try:
cat /dev/input/js0and move your Sticks around to see if your controller produce any input.
If all fails, maybe try xboxdrv:

and:

There is no problem with the controller, I play Rocket League without issue and just launched Dolphin-emu and Steam Big Picture.
I tested withe a wired xbox360 controller and it worked :'(
What can I do ?
I think I've found something interesting. I just installed steam-devices for Steam Controller because it didn't worked.
I just launched SR3 and I can play with my wireless xbox360 controller.
Maybe someone has an explanation ?
Package: steam-devices...
Description-en: Device support for Steam-related hardware
This package provides udev rules for various Steam-related hardware devices
such as the Steam Controller (gamepad) and the HTC Vive (virtual reality
headset).
Obviously one (some) of those udev rules "for various Steam-related hardware devices" also applies to your XBox360 controller - good to know, I wasn't aware of that.
