I've been wondering, are there porting companies that regularly work on software other than video games, or is this concept specific to this industry? Say my company makes specialized software that doesn't exist on Linux, can we hire a porting house to handle the porting for us and maintain it going forward, or is our only option to hire our own developers (or freelancers)?
