So here is my desktop screenshot for May:

The one on the second screen is the new wallpaper for Fedora 19, which I happened to take a shining to. Following that theme, I also made my primary monitor use the default Fedora 18 wallpaper. Never-mind the fact I am using Arch now. :P

I also now have a Doom 3 icon on my desktop as I finally got dhewm3 built from the AUR, and as you can see I still can not run Desurium as I am still encountering issues with it and Boost 1.53.0 unfortunately. My system tray looks so empty without it. :(

I don't understand why people are so fussy about Gnome Shell. It looks so good and sleek:

Gnome Shell I highly favour on a laptop. I still prefer Xfce on the desktop though due to it being more flexible when it comes to different hardware/screen configurations.

And here comes June:

An old favourite wallpaper to go with the old favourite window border I recently ported from Metacity to XFWM:

As for the second screen, I picked it as I thought the shorter, squatter penguin was an appropriate image to display on my shorter, squatter second monitor. ;)

And in other news, Jedi Knight source ports just recently hit the AUR. :)

While I would normally wait until the next month to share this, soon after posting I had something of a revelation about what to do about the icons on my second screen. Since Xfce does not give me the option of turning them off, why don't I just cover them up with, say, a properly configured Conky display?

The trick is to set Conky into desktop overlay mode so that it properly takes all mouse and keyboard events. For those who would like to see it, here is my (still work in progress) conky config:

I also made some slight tweaks to my top panel, replacing the Epiphany launcher I never use with FileZilla and removing some of the statistical readouts that are now better displayed on my second head.

Well, until I get my main machine back up with my new hard drive I am stuck on our old Dell Latitude D600 Laptop which is still running Fedora 15:

In the end it is a good thing I posted my conky config here though; it was one of the few files I was not able to recover from the old drive before it died
