Hello again everyone, I hope you're all well!
Our server has been repeatedly struggling to cope with demand lately, as not only has traffic increased, we've also been the target of a few traffic-floods from random sources. They're not huge floods, but enough to knock over our SQL server on top of all the normal traffic.
I've upgraded our server, it's becoming little costly, but this will enable us to remain in smooth operation.
Additionally, today I just helped Puppy Games with the Linux build of their upcomming game Basingstoke. Valve denied the Linux version, due to a bug found on SteamOS directly. Valve sadly didn't provide them any proper details, so I worked with Puppy Games to provide a video, log files and testing across various controllers on Ubuntu and SteamOS to find where the issue was. As it worked on Ubuntu, but not SteamOS and Valve won't allow a Linux client sometimes unless it works directly on SteamOS.
Thanks to the information I provided, they now know the exact issue and should be able to fix it and get the Linux build past Valve's certification robots.
The above is something I actually do practically every day, it's one of the things people don't see in public, yet it's something I'm happy to do for all the developers who reach out to us at GamingOnLinux to get help sorting their Linux builds out.
