Ark won't launch

Hi All,

I am attempting to launch Ark. The game crashes as soon as I launch it. I can not find a log file, and I tried running a trace but the info means nothing to me. has any one else had this problem, or solved this?

Edit: It does not like the audio device that I am using. If it is selected it crashes. I changed to my on board audio and now the game launches. Is there any way to know what about my audio device it does not like? All my other games work including other UE4 games.

maybe sample rate? 44100hz is the default i think, my USB soundcard defaults to 48000hz for example, but i haven't tried ARK lately, it used to work fine before. Im using JACK though and pulseaudio JACK sinks so sound output is not selected as my USB soundcard but JACK sink, which roots the sound through JACK to my USB soundcard

I checked my sample rate and it is set to 44100hz. Leaving all audio setting the same and selecting HDMI audio the game launches.
