Installation was performed using this trick to skip the blobs mess:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES='D3D11Install_2010.exe=d;DXSETUP.exe=d;scriptinterpreter.exe=d;vcredist_x86.exe=d;vcredist_x86_vs2008sp1.exe=d;vcredist_x86_vs2010sp1.exe=d'
When the game starts, logo videos are played, and right after that it's crashing.

If anyone can run GOG version successfully, please let me know.

Edit: See wine-staging is mentioned in the posts almost a year back. Is that still required? I'm currently running wine-devel.

I run the game through wine 5.5 now. Works flawlessly.
