looking for a new linux gaming laptop
Spirimint Sep 23, 2020
Hey guys i was just going to buy the new System76 Oryx Pro. [https://system76.com/laptops/oryx]

But then i figured out, i need to pay on the price taxes etc.

Dam would be a native linux mashine. Does anybody know similiar laptops with similiar hardware which i can buy in europe? ( Germany would be nice).

Thanks in advance.

Tuxedo seems to be based in Germany:

and Slimbook from Spain:

I've never heard of them both and there no reviews. Are there good ones?

They’re two of the handful of Linux vendors. It’s certain they don't make the laptops themselves, they get them from the likes of Clevo and rebrand them, just the way System 76 does. Have a look at Jason Evangelho’s output, he was comparing the exact same machine from Tuxedo and S76 a while back. The latter has the advantage of coreboot.

Yeah i checked them and i decided to go for the system76 even i need to pay tax and got the the us keyboard. Somehow it feels the right way. I checked many reviews and for the system76 seems like people are very happy.

Just for the record: Tuxedo does make relatively nice Linux laptops worth buying. I had one now for a few years and it is working great. In between I managed to spoil the screen (water damage due to my own fault) and they repaired it quickly and at a very reasonable price.
