Project Wingman in Wine?
Shmerl Dec 3, 2020
Did anyone manage to run Project Wingman in Wine? It hangs on startup for me.

Yeah, would be also interested. Since ProtonDB doesn't have any reports I held off from buying it in the current HumbleBundle VR sale.

Hi!

I lept before looking, but after reading the logs and doing some research I was able to get it running with this protontricks:

protontricks 895870 d3dcompiler_47

So, maybe give that a go? You probably already know this, but just in case, protontricks is just a wrapper around winetricks so you should be able to install d3dcompiler_47 in wine as well!

I tried installing d3dcompiler with winetricks but 43 instead of 47. Let me try 47.

OK, that worked. Thanks a lot for the hint!

Glad to hear it! Fly safe :)

The game jumps straight into gameplay without any kind of tutorial on controls. I crashed the jet pretty quickly because I had no clue what to do there

Yeah, controls are quite confusing. Mouse moves your camera view, and WASD keys move the plane. Pretty hard to sync them up. Not sure how it was intended to be used so far.
