Two Point Hospital released with same-day Linux support

Quoting: Guest(and that's not even mentioning the fact they gifted people Sonic 2 for the 2 week delay on PC, which I heard caused issues with some people trying to refund the game for having denuvo)
I haven't heard about that but probably issues were caused by the delay, not playing a bonus game. Valve doesn't allow to refund a game if it was bought more than two weeks ago even if that was a pre-order. This happened to me once. I had pre-ordered Armikrog, it was delayed for two months and then released as an unfinished broken piece of crap. I tried to refund it, and even if I was playing for less than an hour, I couldn't do this. That't why I don't pre-order games anymore.

So it has an implementation of Street View, but since it's like taking a flat map and making it 3D it's warped as hell, and looks much like the first Silent Hill game...

Also grabbing the earth and flying over it is pretty awesome.
I don't have a headset for my PC, but Street View (and its community-submitted stuff) has become my absolute favourite thing on Cardboard. It's pretty amazing to be able to really look at places you've never been, rather than just see them in photos. It's not even in proper 3D, but it gives a sense of scale and presence that you just don't get from a flat screen or a piece of paper. I'd love to try it on a decent rig.
Sitting on top of mountains and such without having to actually travel... such epic possibilities.

Gstreamer must be solve this issues (wmv and possible others) according andrew eikum

Also add fix for .net issues (mono modified?)

Here is the link for compatibility issues. Lots of games work. You can change the setting in steam play to allow you to install, play and test any windows game. Not all work obviously. I got shadow warrior 2 and astroneer working great so far.

Had some pretty bad stuttering with my entire library before, this release really seems to have helped with that quite a bit.
I've went and replaced the wine binary links in /usr/bin/ to point toward the wine binaries included in steam's proton. It just seems to have better game compatibility and better fullscreen support than vanilla wine at the moment, at least for my system.

Still, it doesn't seem to have broken anything else, although I haven't had time to properly test it all yet.
Try to find the configuration file and reset the refreshrate to 60. Helped the last time i updated my wine version for risen.

This game has been an absolute delight to play even without all the added stuff. I love devs who, when they meet success, give back royally to their community.

Could you please stop being so negative on EVERY VCS article ?
We understand your point of view, but all this negativity and this sarcasm are a bit boring...

I'll stop when atari's own updates stop being bollocks...

Just kidding ^_^, it's just that I see a train wreck coming and I'm annoyed that it's going to damage the credibility of linux gaming with yet another failed linux console project. I'll tone down.

If games don't start and there's a message in console about it not being found, install it, and games should start again. Most distros have a version of python 3 that can be installed alongside python 2, if python 2 is the default.

Here's the issue: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/1004
Looks like it was from this commit.

Yeah, would've been nice if they gave us a head's up on that one...

With the Vulkan renderer, the lighting doesn't seem to work.
Haven't quite figured that one out yet.

Since you're using a GTX 760, which driver version are you running? It shouldn't matter much since the game is already a couple years old and Vulkan didn't have as many extensions back then but you never know, it's the first place I'd start.

You at least need 396.51 for Proton , better to have 396.54

Quoting: MVinhasThree weeks ago I was worried about the future of Linux gaming, right after the Football Manager 2019 annoucement, and then this happened.

With all the pace on this developments, I start to believe that Football Manager 2019 will run even better than Football Manager 2018 on Linux!

One of my first thoughts (after just staring at the screen for minutes) was: Hahaa Football Manager is back on the plate. :)

Quoting: g000hI don't have a good idea what the clues are pointing towards, however just sharing a few titles that it "could" be, and I would like. Trying to avoid ridiculous titles which will never come to Linux.

Shadow Warrior 2 (I did manage to shoe-horn the clues onto this title earlier)
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Hitman 2
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War (note that the Definitive Edition is due soon, on Windows)
Left Alive (Square Enix)
Elex

Halo: Master Cheif Collection for sure

;)

Isn't that an XBONE exclusive? It was last time I checked...

Quoting: Jewgeni Filippowitsch IwanowskiAnd everything else works as intended? What about screen rotation (I know Gnome can do this out of the box)? If all works then this will be my next notebook. ^_^

As far as I know, rotation sensors don't work, although, to be hones, I've not checked or tried.

Otherwise, with the patch to the kernel to enable the touchscreen, everything works well. You need to have minimum 4.18 kernel version for any sense of stability. As of last night I'm on 4.19-RC1. So far so good. The Rumour mill says that 4.19 will have a bunch of Raven Ridge updates. I never tried without the patch to see if the touchscreen worked.

My previous laptop was 13.3" i7 + GTX765M based laptop. It was loud, and had horrible battery life. So far, compared to that, the HP Envy x360 has been fantastic! Sometimes, perspective is everything!
