Hear, hear.

If it's not related to deals with partners which they can't discuss, usually those reasons are related to the fact that they exclude some people ;) I personally don't see anything wrong with admitting that fact though.

Quoting: ShmerlExplained, but not satisfactory IMHO. Feral are probably reading this thread, and if it's something as simple as provided guesses, they can confirm or correct them.
They are a company, they aren't about to give details on all aspects of their business. There's plenty of reasons why companies don't like telling people everything about their decision making. For one, someone will always make a big fuss of it.

Anyway, i think this has been debated enough for me :)

We will never do a level/points system, ever. We had discussions about it before and I personally really hate them. Toxic posts often end up being voted up constantly (a major issue I have with reddit). I really don't think it's a system that works. What we have now does generally work very well.

Quoting: skinnyrafReading through spoilers here, I have just realised that the sequel might mean that DONTNOD will have to spoil it, which ending is "canonical".

Unless they sidestep it completely by telling an unrelated story of someone else who can rewind time...

I think they indicated back then that a potential follow-up would involve new characters.

Spoiler, click me
I am not even sure if they can reuse the rewind time theme, as the first game established the flow of time as impossible to change in the long run. Which means we'd -again- end up with a game where nothing you do matters in the end.

Quoting: liamdaweIf Feral do port a game that is on both Steam and GOG I'm sure the Linux version will get on GOG too. I wouls hope so at least.

Yes, it's something I implicitly expect too. So it's not about "why Feral's Linux version isn't on GOG while Windows one is", but about their preference of porting Steam only games.
Which has also been explained plenty, hence my point about going in circles ;)

Quoting: liamdaweThere is no conspiracy and no coincidence, it's business and they don't generally port games that are on GOG.

That's exactly what I was saying. Unlike some here, who claim that current situation is random and it just "happens" that Feral didn't release any game through DRM-free stores yet.

Then you'd need to claim it's a coincidence. But I'm not convinced. See above, answer from Feral themselves which makes it clear it's not.

That exact same thing happened to me here. Was pretty unprofessional to say the least.
Long time ago now though, and I won't go into it any more.
Some people just think their ideas have to be done though, but as the owner I have to stop somewhere and I cannot implement everything people want. Not only that, but some ideas are just bad.

If you're unhappy with something, you can PM me any time.

It's a pity Liam (et al.?) must spend time acting as a parent for people one would have thought were worthy of the epithet "civilized." Still, this is what magazine and newspaper editors have been doing with "letters to the editor" and "opinion" sections of their periodicals since the beginning. Shouting matches, bullying, and thuggery only detract and distract from a healthy society, be it online or off.

P.S. The first thing I do upon signing in at Reddit is hit "New" because I'm more interested in what's new than what's popular. ;)

Quoting: ShmerlAs far as I know, Feral choose it. Which differs from porting companies which are hired to port something. In case of Feral, they propose other gaming companies to port the game (and to bear all the costs for it), and in return they ask to share the profit from Linux sales (however they measure that). At least that's how I understood it, others can correct me if that's wrong.

As you said yourself, they can only make a proposition to port a game. They can't choose to do it on their own. Technically and legally.

If the information from "http://steam.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_DRM-free_games" is correct, Feral made several Mac ports for Games that are without DRM: Batman - Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition, Rayman® Origins, Fable - The Lost Chapters and Sid Meier's Railroads.

Two Worlds II HD - Call of the Tenebrae, a standalone version of the DLC will see Linux support

Tenebrae has been on my wishlist forever. Indeed, I've held off playing Two Worlds at all until the promised enhancements and Tenebrae have been released. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Quoting: wojtek88I have finished the game in about 90%, from main plot I haven't finished only the last mission.
I haven't finished it because...
I don't have much time to play recently and whenever I start the Dying Light to finish last mission, the scenario is the same:
I start the mission and play it like any other mission. On the map there is a suggestion, that always points me to wrong place and I get mad and turn off the game...

However the game is golden and I can recommend it to everyone.

The game is good and the night sections really make you afraid of the super zombies.

As for the final mission , sorry to say but it is a mess. You're not missing out on that one.

Did you play the DLC yet ?
Nope, I haven't. Honestly very often I skip DLC's. The only DLC's I enjoy are those that provide story extension, like White March part I and II in Pillars of Eternity, or Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine in Witcher 3.
Is the Following similar to those extensions? I own it, but didn't manage to give it a try yet.

I have the "Following" expansion but did not try it out yet.
From what I read it does add new story , weapons and gameplay.
So this might be your cup of tea.

i think its all about how you say something. you can get your point across better if you remain carm and try and articulate into text how your feeling about the subject in hand

i was on a forum a little while ago [the LMZF community] and we where talking about adding a 'like' button and i was only for it if a dislike button was also added, as there is no light without the dark if everyone is happy all the time when this is just the new 'normal'. any way, a dislike button was never added, but i was fine with it as we talked constructively for quite some length no one never once trolling anyone.

this happened on another forum, but, this time i was shot down instantly with a very short sentence from the owner and i felt my view [while being in the minority] didnt matter

i'm woffling sorry

I'm not the most frequent in here nor read every article/post so may miss a lot of it but still, would never consider GOL/users being toxic! .

You shouldn't need to apply anything yourself, so long as your system is up-to-date.

EDIT: I spoke too soon, the fix is still in [testing], if you don't run testing, you will need to wait a bit longer.

Quoting: lucifertdarkthe original developers/publishers only use Steam to release their games so it makes sense that the Feral ports only exist on Steam.

I'm repeating myself for the third time already. I'm not asking about DRM minded publishers, I'm asking why Feral choose to port only games from such.
Probably because they're the ones who make the most money.
