Quoting: AryvandaarWhat about using Vulkan?
Well the good thing is, Vulkan works on both windows and linux.
But Mac still needs there Metal.
And I also think, like Liam is saying in the article, vulkan probably came out when the game was far in development.

This game reminds me Gang Beasts (which is awesome with local multiplayer) a lot due to the wackiness.
So it goes to the wishlist instantly. :)

Doh.
I really like minetest. I wish there was more gameplay with it, though.
Cross-compatibility with minecraft servers would be awesome.

Sad, but what they said makes sense, hope they keep supporting linux in unreal, talking about it, don't know how much you guys know about unreal, but i'm really hoping for a video tutorial about how to create the "cross-compiling-toolchain" for linux in unreal, their documentation about it sucks.

GOG really should just expose an API and leave client development to the rest of the world.

If you're talking about the Steam Controller, there is no need when SC Controller exists.

Huh? What are they doing with Skype?

Well that is a recent development that I am unaware of. Their last release of Skype went without any updates for over two years now. The previous client lacked almost every current feature of Skype and was absolutely painful to use.

That comes at the cost of p2p calls though. Everything goes through their servers now. And that's awesome! I'm so happy to be finally routing my private video calls through a provider I fully and completely trust.

Microsoft gives the okay for SWORDY to come to Linux & SteamOS
By slaapliedje, 27 July 2016 at 6:11 pm UTC

So does exclusive to them only mean consoles? SteamOS technically isn't a console, it's an OS, now maybe if the Devs said 'we want this on Steam Machine!' there'd be issues?

Granted as a game publisher, Microsoft probably doesn't care, they get their share of the money anyhow, right? As long as those Sony jerks don't get anything.

Epic Games founder thinks Microsoft will essentially break Steam in later versions of Windows 10
By Purple Library Guy, 27 July 2016 at 5:49 pm UTC

Quoting: lucifertdarkUEFI was the first step to making Windows the only operating system that works on a PC, killing steam & replacing it with Windows store would be a further step down that route, it may take a few years but it is going to happen.
I'm sure MS would love to make that happen, but the problem for them is that hardware is commoditized and economies of scale very much operative for computers, and MS only "owns" the desktop segment of that hardware (which is shrinking as a percentage of the whole enchilada). The more of the same widgets Intel or whoever can make, the better for their bottom line, and everywhere except the desktop, those widgets gotta run Linux. Doing the desktop different enough from everything else as to make it not run Linux even though the servers and TV-managing boxes and embedded thingies and supercomputer clusters and yadda and yadda and yadda all have to run Linux, would hurt profits. So they ain't gonna do it, and MS does not have enough muscle in this age to make them.

Also, UEFI is a different category of thing from locking down what runs on Windows. The former was in part a, mostly unsuccessful, move to stop things other than Windows from running on PC hardware. The latter would be an attempt to get more control of, and extract more money from, Windows itself--but if anything it would tend to push more people into running things other than Windows on PC hardware.

If they can bring one extra friend to the sleep over.

This isnt my kinde of game to be honest. But I could see a game like this be funny to watch on a lets play or stream.
Im getting some Gang beats feels from this :P.

Maybe its just the art style. Cause that tends to catch me first.

Overlord, Overlord: Raising Hell and Overlord II (new port!) released on Steam for Linux
By manero666, 27 July 2016 at 3:44 pm UTC

I tried them all and they launch and run fine.
Unfortunately there is a huge mouse issue, it seems to be very delayed, this makes them unplayable to me..

If you move it slowly for 20cm and then back for 20cm to the other side, you can see that the camera movement is absolutely NOT synchronized!

If you have mesa you can try Wine Gallium Nine, i tried the first one some months ago and it ran great :)

What's more concerning is the development of the new client, and how they keep avoiding the word "Linux" with that. I've written an article about that a while back, hope it's okay to link it here.
