Former dev on Stardew Valley reveals their life-sim Sunkissed City

Quoting: Liam DaweWhile the art style may be similar, side-by-side there's lots of very clear differences it's not a copy of the assets in Stardew as far as I can see. And to be fair, there were a great many that used the Stardew art-style before Stardew. This type of pixel-art has been around for a very long time.

Yeah, my knee-jerk reaction was wrong here, after comparing screenshots of both side-by-side it's clear this is different.

I didn't vote in most of the categories as there was no Linux option as a candidate, so I'm equally as uninterested in the results.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Steam Deck Verified picks for the 2023 holiday season

I've been craving a replay of Azure Dreams (PSX) so I've installed DuckStation on my Deck. Hard to believe this gem is over 25 years old, and (AFAIK) nobody has remade it properly (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon came close, if I recall).

Might replay the GBA version afterwards, depending on whether the itch has been scratched or not. It was never that well received among my peers at the time, but I enjoyed it.

Quoting: Koopacabrasinb4 someone wishes that 2024 will be the year of the Linux desktop xD

That's every year, at least for those with desktops and taste. ;)

Happy holidays, everyone! Hope everyone has a good time, and has a happy and healthy 2024!

Looks like there's only three Linux games in the whole lineup of Steam Awards candidates. None of them are in the 'Best on Deck' category. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Bleh. Oh well.

Oh wow, you can see the ~5 month gap where I was replaying Zelda: BotW+DLC and then TotK on Switch almost exclusively. Haha.

8% of playtime on Steam Deck sounds about right, I mostly use mine as a VLC client for my minidlna server.

That's pretty big news -- Bethesda hates Linux.
