It just seems like a really strange feature.
The decision itself almost makes me think there's more behind the decision than just what makes for a fun game.
That combined with the quote:

Technically nothing has changed, since half the population was already living with those feelings. The only difference is that whether you feel like this is now decided by your SteamID instead of your real life gender.really makes it seem like the real reason behind it is to spread gender identity awareness or some crap.

So I'd have to launch Steam to launch Itch to launch my games?

Something else to think about is that Linux gamers might also be switching to playing solely on big picture/steamOS at a higher ratio than non-Linux gamers. Which excludes them from the survey.
At first glance you might think that the percentage should still stay the same because some windows users are doing the same thing. However, I'd imagine that Linux users would have a much larger percentage of people interested in steamOS than the general steam population. Even if it's just for testing purposes. So you would expect that our relative percentage in steams survey would drop as more people would be missing the survey due to SteamOS.

Looks awesome. I wish the body parts were a bit more cartoony looking since the realistic textures give me a bit of an uncanny valley vibe.
I look forward to trying it out.

I hope Cyan's new game Obduction will have Linux support since they're making it in UE4.

Wine staging 1.9.6 adds Vulkan support and disables CSMT

So right now does this only run windows Vulkan games on Linux, or can you actually run pre-Vulkan/DX12 games in Vulkan?
If so I wonder if this could actually get better FPS on Linux in a lot of Windows games when Vulkan becomes more developed.

So it's basically a 72 person last-man(tribe)-standing? That sounds amazing!
I'm not so sure about that "cash rewards" thing though.
I don't know why every online game nowadays has to soil itself by throwing in some real money layer. Even the selling of cosmetic items is a meta layer and starting to get kind of annoying.
But still, I'm pretty hyped for that gameplay.

Nvidia release Linux beta driver with Vulkan

But is AMD really even behind? I think the release of drivers supporting a new API would naturally follow the release of the API.
Maybe NVidia has just pushed forward so fast as a marketing move to make everyone think "Oh look, AMD is behind again" and if that was their plan then it looks like it worked judging by the comments.
NVidia just showed up to the party early, and now we're all awkwardly sitting around without anything to actually do waiting for the other guests to arrive. Because the only game that supports Vulkan (windows only) wasn't even really designed to take advantage of vulkan yet (and as someone put it, is just a proof of concept).
The party hasn't started yet and AMD might still show up on time.

Looks good.
I have beta access but it's hard for me to get into it knowing all character data is going to be wiped before the release though. But once it releases I plan on playing this a lot.
Also, I hope they add keyboard movement, I never liked clicking to tell my character where to go in RPGs.
