Quoting: laveand heres the answer i gotFunny how it would be almost zero extra word at all if they just put a little thought into making cross platform code from the start.
Quoting: fleabittenIt's still on the list of "things we want to do" but we've got no idea when.
There's an insane amount of work to do that's higher priority and by remaining part-time, the number of hours we can spend developing drops a whole lot -- that's why we took a shot at Kickstarter in the first place ;)
NS2: Combat FPS Game Has A New Teaser

This is the game mode I always liked to play in the first NS mod.
I was disappointed when I couldn't play it in NS2, since I think they used some windows specific third-party content
So it's exciting that they are making it an entirely separate game now which will support Linux. Can't wait to play combat mode again

I don't need it on steam, but I'm wondering if not having it on steam would hurt Linux statistics wouldn't it? Considering that this is the first AAA game with same day release as the OP said that wouldn't be good, we need this to show decent statistics.
I'm almost not sure if it would be better to let steam take a cut just to be sure my sale adds to their records.
But if we can support Aspyr directly and also get steam keys (these would show up in statistics right?) that would be best.

Quoting: micmon>> GameAgent.com ... and you get Steam keysInterested in this as well.
Do they actually give you a Steam key? I did not find that information anywhere on that page :/

haha I was about to say the OP should have put "soon" at the front of the article title so I wouldn't have a heart attack thinking it was already released.
Then I scrolled down to the first comment and saw that it actually was

Looks pretty awesome. I like the style and the fact that it will have turn based combat
The only negative thing I see right now is "XP boosts" for backers. I really don't like that sort of thing in MMOs
But overall it seems like something worth backing

Feral Interactive Wish To Know Why You Game On Linux

Like most other people are saying, I game on Linux because I prefer Linux over Windows or Mac.
Of all these operating systems, Linux is the only one that seems to understand there is more than one definition of "user friendliness"
The alternatives seem to think the only definition of it is from the perspective of people who have no clue what they are doing, and everything is designed around that.
Linux lets me do things in much more efficient ways, and in the exact ways that I want them to be done, it lets me have better control over the system as a whole, and its approach toward installing software is very logical and clean (i.e. use a package manager to find everything from a trusted source, rather than having to just google for random websites to give you the software you want and just crossing your fingers it isn't malware)
Linux displays the quality difference that you often see when comparing something created purely for money, and something created as a labor of love.

I'm sure better minds than me have thought of this already, but is there any reason to not be afraid of the possibility that developers will say
"well there's no reason to make native opengl code instead of just sticking to pure directx since the new opengl can emulate it"?
But either way, this is exciting news
