im no blower fan expert, but i have seen a number of them over the years...
isnt it obvious that the fan fins are "pushing" air opposite from each other?
one goes clockwise the other goes counter-clockwise
i guess thats a trade off for volume of air to noise....

Gamescope from Valve pulls in support for NVIDIA Image Scaling

it is unfortunate that gamescope requires current bleeding edge packages to operate.
as the developers sometimes choose to require those packages
i was attempting to compile it and work through missing deps when it appears that ubuntu 22.04 is atleast the minimum version of that distro due to missing libseat/seatd in all other versions
noted on their github issues, it would be possible to work around this by compiling libseat
even for a debian 11, youre out of luck. unless you pull in the testing packages or extreme unstable libseat
HOWEVER, quite understandable, FSR & NIS, wayland, all the things are very new software.
its getting near time to update my OS, possibly moving away from ubuntu because of snap and having to seek alternative maintained PPA for packages i need.
its just a hassle id rather avoid since everything works *just fine* currently.
using FSR in proton-ge works quite well sometimes, atleast.

GOG Summer Sale now live with new releases from SEGA

it does work.
i did not test it greatly beyond the "default steam anonymous" account
which has some basic games
considering my raspberry pi 4 could barely play 0 A.D. at 30fps, i wasnt going to spend much time testing out steam x86 games through box86
i do use box86 for other things however. so it mostly works!
yeah if you have the 64bit OS on your pi, you can use box64
ive chosen to stay with the 32bit OS & libraries for now.
atleast with GOG you can simply use innoextract to unpack their setup packages.
yes itchio is a bit of a loop, many games are windows packages (especially .rar files)
all the effort to setup a wine/proton environment for a free 15 minute tech demo. ive avoided mostly playing the itchio games ive claimed or downloaded....

Quoting: GuestIn theory, but last I looked into such things it was a messy, crashtastic experience. I can of course temporarily boot my x86_64, download a game, then copy the files out (presuming steam isn't required to run the game), but it's generally fewer hoops to jump through just going the GOG/itch.io route.as painful as it was to setup steam using box86
Being said, I have played a few things through box64, and that can work well enough. Sunk far too many hours into the bonesweeper demo/prototype that way.

back when playdeb was around, i downloaded anything and everything and tried it out
now most of those are somewhere in a repo for your distro
moving beyond that i mainly keep up with github and build/compile source ports or interesting open source projects

so if you use exfat on a 2TB drive, the minimum block size is 2MB
that means any file that is 1byte - 2.0MB in size on the disk is using the full 2MB
on a much smaller 32GB sdcard, exfat blocksize is a much more managable 32KB
for fat32 one minor issue is the 4GB file limit. many games include a single file that can be over 10GB in size
... or a bluray rip of 40GB ... lets see you put that on a fat32 disk
ive gone full ext4, no issues. no complaints. maybe its not the best for what i need but its what im going to continue using.

Quoting: JuliusThere is exFat these days. Works the same but doesn't have the limitations of Fat32.im not sure if you can change the block size of exfat

while they released a new version
im still highly skeptical
on high alert
especially since lawl said himself not to trust any forks.
i use an older version of noisetorch i self compiled back in december.
no reason to update and build. sometimes honestly question if i need it anymore and should i find alternatives...
it will take a lot of trust to recover this kind of disaster in the community.
