Sounds pretty smart, the danger of bricking SD should be minimal.
Although not that great to the 64GB version users...

Dying Light gets a cross-play update

How is the game on steam deck? Is it now possible to reassign controls? I played it years ago and it had only a few predefined controller schemes, but they were all awkward so I preferred playing with mouse+kb even on the couch.

Watch Valve's Gabe Newell deliver some Steam Decks

Quoting: GuestAwesome video.
Just something I noted some of the guys/gals, didn't know who Gaben even was, that people don't seem like "tech" people. Probably they are gonna use Steam Deck as it is and not switch the OS.
Apparently one of them was a wife of a guy who had gone skiing: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/t2fmg0/gaben_showed_up_at_my_house_and_delivered_my/hylsx25/ [External Link]

Quoting: rustybroomhandleCould also be something like the game not supporting the Deck's weird aspect ratio.
I think these go into "playable", like Bejeweled 3: "This game doesn't support Steam Deck's native display resolution and may experience degraded performance"

I've been wondering for a while what #SteamDeckVerified_TestResult_SteamOSDoesNotSupport a.k.a. "Valve is still working on adding support for this game on Steam Deck" actually means. I've seen it with native games that work perfectly on SteamOS 2.0 + xbox360 controllers (like Ultimate Chicken Horse) as well as Proton games that have a platinum rating and comments saying it works out of the box (like TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2). All the while TY the Tasmanian Tiger (1) is in the verified group.

Valve gives SteamVR and Linux a little love in the latest update

Quoting: poisondIMHO standalone is just not there yet regarding hardware capabilities
Yes, that's why the device is not *here* yet. But I bet it's in the works. ;-)

I totally expect a standalone VR device from Valve, based on their experiences with Index and Deck, powered by SteamOS.

Feral Interactive have no plans to update their Linux ports for Steam Deck
21 Feb 2022 at 7:04 pm UTC Likes: 3

To be honest, I expected Feral and Aspyr do less porting-to-Linux and more facilitating-Proton-compatibility after the market had changed, but I guess it just doesn't make sense from business perspective, or maybe publishers were not interested in such services. I am grateful for what they did, when they did it, and have no expectations beyond what I got.

The important question is: did it get Steam Deck fixes? ;-)

Devolver Digital announces save-the-day adventure McPixel 3

By a total coincidence, I wanted to play McPixel yesterday on Android, but it didn't launch, citing incompatible system version. I got it from humble bundle way back but the Linux version never worked for me for whatever reason. I guess I'll try the steam version, seeing as it has a platinum rating on protondb.
