That falcon looks totally owlish, but I guess it's normal on Eagle Island.

Quoting: Apparition_B5Actually, I read on multiple sites yesterday that the boxed editions will come with an Epic Games Store key, not Steam.
From the FAQ:

#3 - FAQ FOR PHYSICAL EDITION CUSTOMERS
I have pre-ordered a physical copy of Metro Exodus for PC. How will this news affect me?
This will not affect you at all. You will receive your packaged game with a key allowing you to play.

Heh, sneaky wording but I guess you're right.

Quoting: pbWhat makes me wonder is:
- the boxed editions will come with a Steam key, so...
- we might see an unprecedented interest in the boxed edition over the digital one, and...
- the game will probably weigh about 100GB, and...
- Valve will need to pay for all that bandwidth without getting anything in return, since the keys can be generated for free.

Well I read that: https://twitter.com/MetroVideoGame/status/1088438412422627328 [External Link] but maybe it's not true any more...

And so I wonder if they will actually put up with that just for the promise that the game will come to Steam 12 months from now and Valve will get some percentage of the future sales? This might be the turning point not for the store wars but for the rules of key generation and off-store sales...

BTW the games was pulled not only from Steam but also from all the stores like humble, gmg, razer...

The developer of AuroraRL, a 2D space exploration game has thrown in the towel

Well that's a shame. I bought it quite some time ago as it looked interesting, but as usual, I waited for it to be fully released before I play it. Which seems to be never now.

Talking point: What are you playing this weekend?

We're back to family fun with Move or Die, thanks to forced SteamPlay, after the game being broken for over 6 months on SteamOS (due to too old libstdc++ shipped with the system).

That reminds me of a huge business deal that I would have missed if I didn't peek in my spam folder for no reason. After that I set a reminder to check/clean my spam box every two weeks. ;-)

Valve's card game Artifact seems to be dying off and fairly quickly too

They should have released it as f2p for casual players to enjoy with the $20 starter pack to get in the competitive matches or whatever. They would make lots of money on card sales and commissions anyway. Now, with these reviews, who's going to shell out $20 to try the game?

Valve put out another Steam Beta Client with minor Steam Play changes

Well, this update broke this new feature on SteamOS for me. Move or Die (which has been broken on SteamOS for a few months now) worked with SteamPlay yesterday but doesn't start today. :-(
